Surgery needed?
-
If gallstones are causing pain, does surgery usually become necessary?
-
Yes, my husband had surgery for gallstones after he started having repeated episodes of upper abdominal pain, especially after meals. The scans showed that he had gallstones, and the doctor advised surgery because the pain kept coming back. He had his surgery with Dr Lee at Surgical Associates. Before that, we tried to be more careful with his diet, but the symptoms continued, so we decided to proceed with the treatment recommended by his doctor.
