Anyone would like to share some info as to which are the hdb flats/condo which are within 1km to SHPS, Poi Ching & Gongshang ?

And also, i will registering my daughter for 2012 P1 registration next yr. Intend to shift from pasir ris (elias rd) to tampines beginning of next yr becos of her P1 registration.

I'm living within 1km to SHPS and Poi Ching, opposite the new DBSS, near to the mosque. However, being so near to SHPS, seems like no 100% can get in unless i volunteer and also if the sch choose me as one of their volunteer. In regards to Poi Ching, all my neighbours kid got in within 1km without doing any PV or balloting.

I'm still not quite sure if i want to waste my time to do PV in SHPS or just try Poi Ching.

SHPS has a reduced vacancies this year as compared to the previous intakes (90 lesser compared to2006) . With a TUP rate of 53% for P1 which is more than half, chances that balloting <1km is likely to happen. P2A will be flooded with old girls ~50-60 (area incl YCK to marine parade) leaving say 60+ between P2B and P2C.

Thanks for the info, will give SHPS a miss since chances are slim. Actually i'm deciding btw Poi Ching, Chongzheng or Yumin Primary (Phase 2B). CZ & Yumin is very near to my mum's blk, both schools are juz beside her blk, which my girl will go to after sch hrs.

But CZ which i read from this forum is better & needs balloting. If i opt for Yumin, sure will get in. Poi Ching, i have to look for houses within 1km then.

Haiz, cant decide which will be the best choice. Yumin Primary is improving, it got the good progress award for last yr but wonder why it's unpopular ?

Can understand when u write HAIZ... that's what i am feeling now too.. i heard from my neighbor that when she went for the PV interview at SHPS, she was told she has to volunteer at least 100 over hrs without a guarantee place. She decided to give up and go for poi ching instead. Her DD is very happy there now in P1.

Which yr your child born in? My in 2006.

Any comments on Junyuan Primary school?
They seem to have a lot of special programs to raise the English & chinese standards in their school.
I’m deciding whether I should try for St Hilda’s (Phase 2C- confirmed Balloting ) or to go direct & apply for Junyuan Pri, any advise?
