              Augmum,

I didn't try their char siew soh... tried their teochew kueh, so so. will go try the kim choo's ondeh ondeh!

              Thanks for the recommendation!
I also like the kimchoo ondeh ondeh, smaller sized than others, u'll certainly not choke on it, or have the fillings spill out from yr mouth or gag. Not a very pretty sight when you're trying to savour the ondeh.

oh, treenymph, which stall in marine terrace? are you refering to the market food centre?

Pssssssssssssssssst tree nymph and to all those who love malay kueh esp lapis cake.....

I want to share this ......

I went down to the hawker centre where the Selera mee rebus stall is located (can't remember blk) at New Upper Changi to buy the vegetarian noodles from the stall named miao xiang. Guess what, at the end of the row on the left hand side got some malay stalls and Hari Raya coming so they are selling malay kueh. I ordered the lapis with haw flakes ... see image of haw flakes below:

                  http://www.postimage.org/

I loved eating them during pri sch days ....

I tried this particular lapis cake the yr my DS was born from the same stall and it was v good, although oily. Now its back again. Its pricey at $45 for a square shaped cake. Didn't ask the the weight because in a hurry but I guess maybe ard 1kg???? If you are familiar with prune lapis cake, then just imagine the combination of haw flakes instead of prunes ....

                      Hi Bliss,

Yah it's the same Kim Choo which sells nice dumplings and nonya kueh. If you go to their East Coast/Joo Chiat branch, the shop above the dumplings/nonya kueh sells all the nonya attire, accessories..
i find Kim Choo a bit ex leh though agree their dumplings are good..

there is once.. the auntie promoting their Nonya Agar Agar in box of 4 pieces.. i decided to buy 1 piece to try and walao it costs me $3!!!

tasted it when back home, it is just agar agar lor.. nothing special..
