Hi Brenda,
Hi TAS
Yes. It is interesting.
BTW, there are two books in the market trends. Is this book \"Usborne Book of Science Experiments\" refers to the 100 experiments?
Thank you.
Yes that is correct, the other science book also has a lot of science experiments, the difference is in the type of experiments, so both
cover different types.

Hi Brenda,
Hi TAS
Thank you. Please advise which book is more suitable for P5?
These are some of the books that are suitable for P5
1) Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz
Snakehead is part of a series based on Alex Rider, a 14 year old spy working for the British government. In this story, a criminal
organization, Scropia, is hired to kill 8 celebrities who are hosting
a conference on an island. The person in charge of the assassination
is the head of a powerful Asian snakehead syndicate.
Alex does not want to go on this mission but decides to sign up for it
in the end as he will be working with Ash who is his godfather and knew
his parents. Alex's parents died when he was very young and he has been
wanting to know about them for a long time. His father used to work
as a spy for the British Intelligence too.
Alex has to pretend to be an illegal immigrant to smuggle into the Snakehead's organisation and he also learns a terrible truth about
Ash and his parents at the end.
Very interesting and full of good vocabulary.
*Anthony Horowitz books all tend to be good.
2)
Among the hidden (shadow children series)
Among the imposters
Among the betrayed
Among the enemy
In this series, the story takes place in the future where drastic but terrible
measures have been taken to stop the overpopulation problem.
All families can only have 2 children. If they do have a third child, the
pregnancy has to be terminated. However, Luke Garner is a third child
and his parents have hidden him from the authorities. All his life,
he has to hide in the shadows. He cannot go to school, he cannot go out
and play. He cannot eat with the family. He has to sit in the staircase
just in case anyone spies on them and sees 3 children.
The whole series tracks Luke as he teams up with another shadow child
to try to go against this law but they are arrested and his friend is shot dead. Later on, he is forced to take another identity and he goes
to school using that identity and there he finds more shadow children
using fake identities and the series ends with him helping to bring
freedom for the shadow children.
It is a gripping read.
3) The House of Scorpion by Nancy Farmer
This is an award-winning book with fascinating characters and great action. In this story, Matteo Alacran, a druglord, owns a mini empire
where the menial tasks are done by 'eejits' people in whose brains
computer chips have been installed to make them docile and
perfect workers. Alacran has lived for 140 years with the help of
clones. He destroys their intelligence at birth but uses their organs
when his fail. Matt is a clone that has been bred for this purpose.
However, he has been spared and his intelligence is not taken.
He is first caged like an animal and then pampered and educated because
he is Alacran's favourite. Later, when he learns his fate, he escapes with
the help of his bodyguard and later returns to take his rightful place
and change his country.
Where to get them: Most bookstores/libraries.
We also sell them. We are selling them at a discount at our

Hi parents,
There is an interesting book for children in primary 5 or 6. It has been
out for a while. It should be available in the bigger bookstores.
We want to recommend it here as not many children seem to know
about it.
The plot is interesting and the writing is quite good.
Numbers2 The Chaos by Rachel Ward
Adam has a secret, he can see numbers foretelling a person's death when
he looks into his or her eyes. His mother also had the same power.
He lives in the countryside but is forced to return to London when floodwaters
rise and threaten to destroy his home in the countryside. When he
is in London, he sees the same date whenever he looks into people's eyes.
What will happen on that date? How can he prevent it from happening?
It is a gripping thriller
