emmm...reading this thread is not 'too healthy'..as it causes my urge to buy diamonds ...haaaaaaaaa 😉

This thread is worse than the food threads, sigh ... Those are at least affordable :).

I like all the 3 Cs. If you're looking for standalone stones, you can specify all three includind the final cut, eg cushion, oval, etc, but be prepared to wait. I also don't like it if the table is too narrow cos you'll end up paying for \"depth\". From what I can see, ovals look the biggest for the same carat size.

Alamak, I better go over to the food thread cos over there, get fat only :).

              For diamonds,

The most important is the Cut.
Cos even if you have a D colour 1 carat, bit if the cutting is poor, then the diamond will not sparkle at all.
Cut determines how sparkling the diamond will be.

I love your god-of-fortune avatar. I guess only diamond can attract u back to KSP.com again.

The more cuts the diamond has the more expensive it is.

                    Hi.

Actually it is not true that the more cuts the diamond has, the more expensive…
Round brilliant diamond usually has 57 or 58 cuts.
If you buy a perfect cut diamond, insist on a cert from AGS as AGS is a prestigious for grading diamonds.

                      Hi,

Any idea how much has diamond appreciated in value over the past 5 years? depending on the grade ?

depending on grade and market sentiment, recession or not, whether it is certified by well known authority

it is not easy to sell second hand diamond because in the first place, it is a high profit margin product

in fact, in the last 5 years, from my observation, retail diamond price has dropped, cheaper to buy the same grade same carat today than 5 years ago = depreciation
