So between RI/RGS and NUSH, which one will you drop?
Depends on the child's aptitude and interest. While my niece is very strong in Math and Science, she also had a strong interest in the humanities. After attending both Open Houses and talking to teachers and understanding the curriculum of both schools, she chose RGS over NUSH. ( She was offered DSA to both schools. ) She is now very happy at RGS and loves Humanities.
Happened last year too. Clash in dates for NUSH and NJC. Both refused to budge. In my niece's case, it was easy. Drop NJC. Their loss.jtoh:

It's crazy , right? If a child get into both....you will have no choice but to choose one at this early stage and may lose out on the opportunity..doesn't seem fair to me. -

In the end, you may not even get into the school u chose for the 2nd round. There goes the opportunity for the other school and you get thrown out to the supplementary stage for both schools. That will be painful to say the least.

doubt there are exact figures unless and until the schools come out the figures.fromnuaa:
Yesterday my wife tell me that the total number of gep pupils who get NYGH DSA offer without interview is between 50-60...
Total GEP girl for the seven GEP school is 188. That say 60 got into NYGH DSA without interview, there are still about 128 GEP girl who are either waiting for interview, went for interview but still waiting for the result or did not apply for NYGH at all. Need more informations from parents inorder to get the exact figures.
parents would only know their own ds/ dd is in or out, and not all dsa parents are on ksp.com -

But if you got both in the end, you still have to give up one. The difference is when you dont get offer from both and you may give up the one which is going to offer you ! Then it will be missing a chance and getting into one of your dream school.PowerPuff Mum:
My friend called up RI and was told that selection test on 24 Jul will be held in the afternoon (indicate say what time though) as the school has some other event on that morning. Guess this info still doesn't help if NUSH camp is whole day (till late afternoon as told by another friend whose DS attended it 2 years back).

The important thing is to choose the school that you prefer and you would be very happy to get into. And if you don't get offered DSA, then work harder for PSLE. Getting an offer by your second preferred school sometimes spells another headache: Whether or not to accept the DSA because in your heart you really want to go to the other school. What if you accept the DSA offer by the second preferred school and realize after PSLE that you could have gotten into your dream school via your results. More headache. Because then you have to decide if you want to appeal etc. Life is about choices.

NUSHigh has sent out some emails today.NUSH selection test result will only be announced tomorrow.
I really hope they can announce it today at 2359.
Have received the emails twice today and recall back due to some typo error made.
Am confused if my boy is selected!!
You can check your emails. -
Just saw email from HCI that DS is shortlisted for DSA Phase 2.
Whether in the end offered a place or not, that's another story. At least for now he gets a chance to take the test.
