It seems last minute preparation will be helpful somehow for NUS High.
Such as reading some reference books or science magazine or some maths or science activities reference.
At least, the kids know some kinds of the activities related maths or sceince.
Hope the kids successful in the final stage. -

I think i am more disappointed than he is. He doesn't seem to be bothered and told me he already knew he wouldn't be able to make it after the test itself. He also said he would not be able to get into NUSH as he won't be able to get A* for Science
i told him he just had to work harder and try his best. Internally, i am also adjusting my expectation. as for dh, his first reaction was , how come i didn't prepare him for the test?! he made the same remark the day before the test. i don't think it is possible or necessary to prepare for the test cause nobody knows what will come up and also, if a child can't make it, it just shows that his level of thinking is still not there yet and such things can't be forced....
The fact is that.. as parents we want the best for our kids and will continue supporting them whichever way possible..but sometimes there will be disappointments..we also have to teach our children how to deal with them these disappointments even if we are VERY disappointed ourselves. We still are their very own cheerleaders! How difficult it is to be parents these days..
Your DH probably know that there's no real prep for these kind of tests..he's probably as disappointed.
Ah well..there's many more routes to success...this is just a minor setback..life goes on. Look forward to the next challenge..PSLE! -

For the millionth time, you can mug last minute for all you want but the chances of it helping are like 0.00000001% so think twice. It seems last minute preparation will be helpful somehow for NUS High.

Sharing the view is FYI only.
I believe that it's good way to try your best before the final is decided,
At least, the kid and praents already tried no matter what kind of result it will be. -
