Hi, My dear son chose to join NUS High . Not sure if BPGHS offers Tamil . But came to know thro DS that his classmate who took tamil joined BPGHS in 2011 . They must be taking tamil language classes in the MOE language centre . Better get first hand information from the school itself.

Any new Sec 1 kid travelling from Jurong West to NUSHS? It takes an hour to travel by public transport.

NUSH students’ parents: Does it not automatically convey to MOE that, S1 offer has been declined, once NUSH’s offer is accepted? NUSH is asking for a transfer letter from the S1 posted school, to confirm to NUSH that the S1 offer has been declined. This is laborious! Did you have to undergo the same when your kid got into NUSH?

Hi All

Just got an email from NUSHS that my DS is offered a place in the school. How do we submit the transfer form from S1 posting school ? Should we visit the S1 posting school on 22nd to request for relieving from that school as we wish to take up NUSHS offer? Please reply if anyone has any information on this . I hope u r saying this from your experience in applying /admitting ur child’s to NUSH.

I’m given to understand that, the very purpose of NUSH declaring their results a week in advance is to get the students to commit. Once accepted, it is relayed to MOE to reflect in the S1 list. If both S1 & NUSH lists are left open, there’ll be recycling of both S1 & NUSH lists, which they may not be happy to entertain.

Parents of NUSH students: Pls share your experience on this.

As for COP, NUSH’s site says it was 257 last yr. Since the spread has reduced this yr, the COP could be higher.

Since NUSH results will be out a week before S1, I understand, once NUSH's offer is accepted, the child will automatically be dropped from S1.

With DS's bend towards Math & Sci, his preference is NUSH!

How sure are you about these insider figures of 10%, 15%…at NUSH? Do they really reveal the actual numbers? (I did see the NUSH admission site about the 90% admission thro DSA)

With last yr’s COP of 257 and with probably some of the successful DSA students seeking out of NUSH, I’m wondering what are my DS’s chances of making it to NUSH, with his score of 265!
