So far I didnt heard my kids complaint ... and he just like the school. ๐Ÿ˜„

They like it cos of the activities they have during lessons. Alot of learn through play (based on what I heard from my students and their parents).
End up, my students do not like 'academic work' like worksheets and practice questions to prepare for exams. A few of them are trying to transfer out because they are worried that they do not have the ability to keep providing tuition to their children to ensure they are ready by P6 for PSLE, competing with other kids in SG.

Ya, my only student in Primary One from North Vista almost everyday does not have homework to do in my student care centre  All my other Pri One students from other schools very often have homework to do.

My son is in North Vista Primary School, primary 1. The students are to complete their work in school rather than to bring home and do. So, it is not that they do not have any homework.

Obviously they have done their homework in school. My question is really how adequate is the homework given to them. I'm sure students from other schools do have homework done in school too but they also have extra worksheets to complete at home.

It is really a case of whether NVPS has just the right amount of schoolwork for their students while other schools are giving too much or not.

Perhaps, parents from NVPS can do a survey here to assess whether they are satisfied with the amount of schoolwork given to their children.

Sorry for being kaypoh here. As someone working in a student care centre, I am just hoping to gauge how satisfactory this pilot project is to concerned parents becos if this is successful it will eventually be introduced into all primary schools in the near future.

            Hi happyfather,

i had checked with the school on this cos' my girl is in P1-7. The classes are allocated randomly. There are 9 classes of P1. I had noticed that the last 4 classes do not have any other races except chinese in the class. Who knows maybe the better ones are those in the last few classes.

            Rdgs,
            melloh88
Actually, this is what I understand. Usually, the last class is the best class. From what I observed is that the smarter students are in the class. My girl had usually almost score for her phonology in K1 and K2. She was tested by her current teacher and noted that she is very smart and mature at her age, except she is careless at time for maths.

If you do not believe what I say, you can check on the components of the races in the class. There are many Malay in the first few classes, while there are many CHinese or the whole class are CHinese. You can form your informed opinion.

SO far, there are homework from school. It is manageable for my girl. SOmetime, there are many, esp over the long weekend.

The only complaint is that the school is too long. There are some students who had been transferred by their parents.

                  Hi

my gal will be starting P1 next year. For those parents who have kids in this school, may I know whether there are any activities on a Saturday? Is it true that all P1 kids will need to attend swimming classes?

                  thanks for all your feedback.

                    Hi

For those parents who registered their kids for P1 next year, I heard that we need to go back to school one day to do all the pre-admin stuff. Anyone hear from the school yet? Wonder what is done during orientation then? Any parents with kids in the school can share?

                    Thanks

Hi Royal, referring to your post, you meant NVPS students only study 4 days a week? From 8-3pm++?
