KSP:
I have a strong feeling mediacorp will be at CHS during the 2B balloting to interview those successful and unsuccessful parents.
:rotflmao: I'll tip off my friend who works as a broadcast journalist in Mediacorp and if they do decide to go to CHS, they must credit KSP and kiasuparents.com! -
When will balloting be held for phase2B?
-
mamemo:
I had called CHS. Priority will be given to PV when it comes to waiting list. Catholic has no priority. Anyway, the lady told me that no one has ever withdrawn from CHS after being given a place. Can anyone here prove that she is WRONG? No one ever? I don't believe it.
Oh my...that's such a pity...did your friend's friend put his son on waiting list ? CHS should at least give PVs priority since they have done something for the school -

I was told that it will be held on the day of the announcement of results. Most likely 9am. But pls check w the school just to be sure.

If you are a Catholic, go by faith.
Ha! I think we have made up our mind more or less. Will be going to Maris Stella. Unless we see that the odds is good at CHS (which we highly doubt so).
So, keep in touch.
We had similar dilemma when registering our elder boy, whether Maris Stella or CHS. I even waited until the afternoon of the last day of registration in phase 2B, calling up the school to ask for the latest registration numbers. In the end, I drop by CHS and put in our application. To go to Maris STella was further, and I couldn't imagine going there on a daily basis.
I said that we'll leave it to Divine decision.
We balloted. our boy got CHS. And we have 2 more boys who benefit from that as well. i still think Distance is so important. The nearer the better. -
phankao:
I agree that distance is important. That is why we prefer CHS so much. Somemore, we have so many relatives living within 1 km of CHS and can simply walk to the school to pick up our son while we are still working. So convenient. But there are only 9 places left. I am a Catholic but the odds are almost impossible. I know I should just trust God but as long as it is a Catholic school, MS or CHS, we will be happy. If we end up in MS, we will sort out the travelling part when the time comes. My wife and I are teacher. We need to go to school on time too. Cannot imagine the time we need to leave our boy in school early in the morning.

ok, my boy's time \"long ago'. He's in sec 1 now. We don't even live within 1km of CHS. -
phankao:
Yes only 9 places left for 2B, another 9 for 2C. I joked with my wife. God is testing us. Maybe we should just try CHS. We may just be one of the impossible 9. But seriously, since we only have one chance at phase 2B, we need to take the one with better chance and then pray hard...

We are still considering MS or SJIJ - if we go to MS also - and if we both get balloted - our boys may become classmates!
Lets see how it goes....
In case you are wondering - i stay in Tiong Bahru -- so either school is also damn far away - but then - no Catholic school nearby my place so.... -
Oh yah - if you are wondering why i say โclassmatesโ, thats cos MS groups its kids by registration no. - so those registering under Phase 2b wil either be classmates or the nex class โ in this yearโs context, i think the kids were mainly in 1F or 1G - per my fren who got in last year.
