Went to CHS to register this morning since I am a pv and no other choice. Saw a few Catholic parents registering too. The number may breaks 50 as more people are coming in as I left. All within 1km. So the 9 are truly blessed ones. Balloting on 28 July 2pm so we will keep our prayers going.

            Rejoice,
Do you know how many PVs did CHS take in for this batch?

I am not too sure. During PV briefing last year, if I remember correctly the principal said around 15 or so. But don't quote me. They are all within 1km since the principal does not encourage >1km to take up PV. He even advised parents with only 1 boy to reconsider taking up PV since the effort may not pay off. I have only 2 boys and CHS is just 5min walk from my house so have to give it a try. At least next time I can tell my boys that we have tried our best.

              Hi rejoice137,

What did you have to do as a PV for CHS? Did you have to submit some kind of "project"?

If you walk around the campus, you will see the classrooms wall are all decorated with information such as 7 wonders of the world, the dynasties of China. Or you can see display of singapore currency, old toys from toy museum, models of old vehicle... these are all done by the PV. That is the kind of PV that the school is looking for. So you will have to think of a topic that you can showcase and propose to the principal. If he thinks the topic is of interest of the kids, he will accept the proposal.

If my son does not get into CHS this round, we will try out KCPPS. But we stay about 1.1km from the school so may have to go balloting again in phase 2C. So more stress next month.

So once your project had been submitted, you're considered to have fulfilled your PV duty? No need to clock 40 hours of traffic warden/chaperon/etc duties?

Typically the time spent to do research on the information and getting the display up will exceed more than 40 hours. So that should consider you already fulfill the requirement for PV. The principal makes it very clear that the school does not need traffic warden or librarian or other such service for PV. Actually I find CHS type of PV more fun and challenging especially if you find a topic you are more interested in.
