Ok. this is what i know about pei hwa.

Out of the 68 applicants, approx \" 20 odds\" are within 1 and bewteen 1-2km (the school wouldn't tell me the breakdown). Take 25 as the approx, it means there are ~ 43 (68-25) applicants outside of 2km. THis means the 43 applicants will need to ballot for ~19 places.

It was 69 at 4pm, and became 68 because -------I withdrew.

So i hope my withdrawal from PH will help one anxious PH parents (outside of 2km). ....

Sigh... there is balloting for those living >1km of MGS, first time in history. 43 applicants for 38 vacancies. Shock of my life.


I have a question... do we wait for the school to call & inform us or just go to the school to witness the balloting on the date as stated on the letter? This was given to us when we were registering before the final figure were released.

exactly...this is because of the new huge mushrooms sprouting within 1 km of MGS called Floridian, Cascadia, Jardin...

With all the new condo projects sprucing up around MGS, it only makes balloting within 1km more REAL and scary. These new projects are also close to Pei Hwa. Wihen these projects TOP, these 2 schools will face balloting in 2B (even for those who do PV).

hopefully it gets worse this year so that it scares off everyone next year when I have to register for DD!

under 1km : 20
1-2 km : 9
Over 2km : 22

Total : 51 for 36 places.

No balloting for those under 2km.
Balloting for over 2km - 22 for 7 places.

I think MGS will continue to be a top choice for those living within 1km. I do hope they will consider to up their intake and save parents from much anguish.


I can’t help feeling frustrated knowing I have to go for balloting… This is going to be a long weekend. I find it ridiculous that 43 applicants living within 1km have to ballot for 38 vacancies. Excess of 5 applicants aren’t that hard for the school to accommodate, don’t you think?
