I guess the school will inform parents to withdraw and try a school with higher chances of getting in. Schools are usually in residential estates and those within 1km/1-2km will stand much higher chance.
In cases of balloting, the highest risk group is >2km.. if way over subscribed this group will be the first grp which might not even get a chance to ballot...but i have heard from parents who registered before this year that they will be informed to withdraw and try somewhere else before end of registration of the Phase (2B/2C) if that happens..janet_lee88:
Hi Mummies,
Have you got info regarding balloting ? Figures show 71 applicants for 53 seats. Will balloting be conducted for those staying out of 2km then ?

Even those staying within 1km could face balloting in very popular schools. All the best PARENTS. -

I don't know if my heart can take such stress being there... Undecided

Hi Lizzy,
It’s stressful to be around during balloting.
Has pros and cons being there too. In any case, I still wish you and other parents all the best. -
Hi, can anyone explain how balloting take place? Are numbers pre-assigned or given as parents arrive at school?

Yes, I meant the ballot number.

Parents attendence at the balloting session is optional.
I do believe that the slips are prepared before hand but only place into the bowl under the witness of those parents that attend the session.
