I’m still wondering if I should attend, or save the leave for 2C registration just in case I’m the unlucky one. But I don’t think I can rush to the school in time by 5pm to check the results. Besides waiting for the notice by post, is there any other way I would know if I got a place? I know calling is one way, but usually the phone lines would be jammed.

Yes. On the balloting day, you will know whether your child gets in or not. It's up to you whether you attend the balloting or not, though. To know the results sooner, of course, it is advisable that you attend the balloting. -
