I heard from friends that even those who are parents and studied in the school can register under 2A2 too, the only difference is they did not register as an alumni to register in 2A1. Is it true?

Ok, children whose parents are teaching in the schools get to enjoy by registering in that primary school under Phase 2A2. What about those working in MOE ? Do those parents get to enjoy priority ? After all, they are working in Education Ministry itself ?

Yup. If either parent/SIBLING of the child has studied in that school, they can register under 2A2. Alumni (2A1) is for those who have studied in the school and joined the school's alumni. If the school doesn't have alumni like Pei Hwa, then register under 2A2.

Yes even the admin staff working in the same school gets to register at earlier phases. That is what the admin staff told me when I did PV at the school...so long as you are under MOE payroll regardless of positions. :?:

How about those working in MOE offices, not in the schools? Do they get priority in phase 2A2?

if no alumni organisation, then should be P2A1, not because the parent did not want to join, but the lack of it

but then, alumni parents should just go and form an alumni org for the school, then can claim rights under P2A1, instead of being relegated to P2A2

But 2A1, 2A2, just a matter of numbers. These 2 phases still belong to sure win entry. If the old girls/boys are active in the school, joining the alumni makes sense. If not, it's just a numbers game (sch has how many alumni etc).

even some phase 2B are really low in numbers ..... and if for any year there is an unexpected increase in phase 2A2, then those hoping for pahse 2B will kena lah

ha ha...true, but then before 2B, the enrolment is not split. it's after 2A2 that the vacancies get divided by half and the madness starts. that's why I a bit puzzled that pp will join alumni just to register a few days earlier.

From what a parent mentioned earlier, there is NO priority for those working in the MOE HQ itself.

It's strange that some schools which have LONG history dating back to 18XX like Pei Hwa which doesn't have alumni. So parents cheong to register on 1st day of 2A2.

I'm not for joining alumni bcos P1 registration...understand alumni group has many meetings which I have no time to attend.
