      Hi Winth,

I'm considering between Radin Mas & River Valley as both I can try as at Phase 2B. RVPS location seem rather a bit inconvenience due to it was located in the private properties area.

Where are you staying & which school you would stand good chance? Gan Eng Seng would be the most convenience for me but I have very little information about the school.

my only worry is on her chinese. I understand most students in girls school tend to speak more English and treat learning Chinese with disdain. Currently, she is pretty positive about learning chinese in her childcare as her teacher is a native speaker and can bring the subject to life.

        Ponyo,

Dont worry, my son cant communicate in Mandarin. Now he is in P1, taking Higher Chinese, he scored 98 during the CA1.

Its very common for kids to speak only English. But when it comes to chinese lesson, they will automatically speaks and write well.

Always encourage her and say well done. She will improve very fast. Try out.

Chinese is easy in lower primary. Once yr kid reaches P4 where more emphasis on writing compo/doing compre plus oral, that’s when the frustration and difficulty come in. Esp for kids from Eng speaking family…who dont watch the news/chinese programs/read chinese papers. Like ours.

You can check out http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=425 if you want to see the whole process. Those that made it were ecstatic, while those that didn't... learnt to live with it.
