      Hi Pandafam and Baby Chong

My son just joined SV this year in term 3; he’s P1.

Everyone did tell me it’s rather impossible for a transfer in SV to happen. I did not want to gamble away a secure seat too (like Pandafam) as I’ve heard of horror stories that people did not manage to get their school of choice in 2C and had to go thru’ 2C supp to go into one that’s not really their choice. So we stay put and asked to be on waitlist. Each school might have its own policy on transfer … if you are changing from a school that’s further away to one that’s nearer, that puts you at a higher prioirity. Also, you may want to consider updating the school that you are waitlisting on, on your continued interest and update them on kid’s progress.

The cases whereby kids manage to change school before P1 starts, I’ve heard too … in fact this happens to a neighbour. Usually such cases would be where the family had to relocate and one had to move fast to accept such transfers. Such cases really depend on luck… some I hear waited for years and never manage to get a transfer.

And Buds, you are right on accepting twins. Son’s ex-class had a pair of twins that came in after 1 kid transfered out … they moved from Boon Keng area I think to near us and perhaps they have priority on the transfer.

Pandafam, do find out on schoolbus arrangements if distance is a challenge … for the ex-school, my son was asked to board the bus at 11.10am for school that’s supposed to start at 12.30pm. Many kids that came from far-away areas are asked to board that time or even earlier at 10.50am.

        Hi xjysg

Tks for the info. I know a few neighbours that are unsuccessful in Phase 2C and end up to Phase 2CS to the schools not their choice.
Personally, I find the Primary One Regisration is very STRESSFUL procedures for parents.

BPPS according to the security guard said the school bus fetch kids from CCK and Teck Whye only. Will only know the details during the P1 orientation.

you have to go down to the school personally to sign a form to state that you have given up the vacancy at that school. Then they will update the system. After which you can go for 2C at another school.

:celebrate: congrats on ur phase 2b balloting.

Which sch are u currently registered with & which are u aiming?

I guess u need to monitor the stats in Ph2c & assess if the risk is worth it to withdraw from you confirmed sch & go thru balloting again in the new sch.

And if u give up your seat in Ph2C, those PV who did not managed to get a seat in Ph2B will :x hmmm.....

I presumed you have registered with Yew Tee in Phase 2B and is now thinking of registering at Unity under Phase 2C? if so, you need to withdraw from Yew Tee before you can register at Unity.

Do be careful and monitor the registration status at Unity closely to guage your chances before withdrawing.

                        😄
