Yes, I didn't want to create a 'riot' by telling the actual/real story that happened to me but it's a fact we have to face I guess. I'm a PR. The other SAHM whom was succesful is local. I'm well educated & able to serve in all departments based on qualifications. The only reason I can think of is the fact that I'm PR. Well, I've put it all behind me as I just found out this morning that I'm out of Phase 2B. So, here we go again for 2C! How long more do u have b4 u need to register your child? I find these few wks of researching on stats, etc on registration has made me an expert! haha 😉 It's frustrating, yes but it's all in God's hands. The only advise I hv for u is, if you REALLY want to ensure your child gets into the sch of your choice, pls move there 2 yrs ahead! & call the sch to ascertain it's within 1km.

I think it is not related to SAHM or PR. It is dependent on what the school needs. I know of a PR SAHM who is a Chinese tutor and has done PV Chinese tuition weekly for a popular school for upper primary kids weak in Chinese. This type of task is not suitable for FTWM who is unable to commit to 1.5 hours weekly tuition, or those SAHM who is not familiar with school syllabus and not able to teach. For popular schools who have more than the required number of PVs, they tend to be more choosy and will choose the \"qualification\" of the PVs.

When applying for PV (many years ago), I didn't sense any preference SAHMs over FTWMs. However, school expected PVs to commit 1 - 2 hours every week on a weekday afternoon. This may be a stretch for working parents unless their companies are flexible

One tip, it may be useful to attach your BIG BIG certifcates. Majority of PVs I spoke to have degrees, Masters degrees, double Masters, one even with PHD ! Perhaps the principal's selection logic was parents can study, children also can study? 😐

please don't ask me which school

True, I think \"big big\" certificates play an important part in selection. I also feel that anyone who is in education industry will also be very much preferred, especially if the paymaster is MOE.

but will Big Big cert/awards help if i am now a SAHP? attach Big Big cert will the principal say showoff? 😐

SAHP with big certs is lagi better...It means that not only you have calibre but also lots of free time to do PV duties.... 👅

dh & I never sat for any IQ tests. Have nothing to attach
When applying for PV, my dd was too young to go for IQ test

But for discussion sake, if parents have impressive IQ score, there's no harm attaching. Working along the same 'logic', gifted parents = gifted offsprings
