NY has compulsory cultural activities, like chinese calligraphy and chinese martial arts. RGS doesn’t. So it depends on where your interests lie.

        those are not compulsory

though they are strong in it

some of them carry over from NYPS, hence strong foundation in calligraphy and martial arts .... so, boys beware of the martial arts girls !!

During my time (i was born in mid 70s), The PSLE cut off point for RGS was ALWAYS higher than NYGH. It’s the no. 1 girl’s school. So I was quite surprised when I read that for last year, NYGH’s COP was the highest. Seems like there’s a shift?

It's in their timetable, so everyone has to do them.

It's probably the first time NYGH has had a higher COP than RGS in a long while. We'll have to see if the trend continues or if it was just a one-off incident. Last year apparently a lot of NYPS girls decided to go to NYGH because their primary school Principal went over to NYGH. This, plus the fact that NYGH's COP for NYPS girls is 250 meant that a quite a number of spaces were taken up by affliation.

The traffic shouldnt be something to worry about considering how RGS is ultimately worth it. My sister-in-law's cousin's daughter is in RGS, basketball.

She enjoys RGS and the vibrant culture, and in RGS, the houses are very important, and my girl enjoys mass dance a lot.

Maybe one should explore the opportunities a school provides, and of course your child's interest.

But still, I'm brainwashing my girl to go to RGS.

which brand of detergent for is good for washing the brand, huh ?

Usually the afflication will lower down the COP of the school? since they give 'discounts' to afflicated gals right?

So that means there are a good number of gals with very high PSLE scores chose NYGH over RGS.

Actually it does seem to me that NYGH is getting more and more popular.

ya, that's my observation too. All the while, NYPS girls are affiliated to NYGH. But in the past, a BIG majority of the girls would choose RGPS over NYGH. Now, this doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
