What you do want or hope your child to work as next time?

MP? Another dream of mine! Married to MP!I've 3 kids and this is my ambition :
Kid 1) Doctor but she said she is afraid of blood..... Also, I also realised doctor's job is not that great. Eg. Gynae still must rush back to hospital if someone wants to deliver in the middle of the night. So it might not be feasible after all. We think she makes a good auditor.
Kid 2) Businessman or some business development job. He makes friends easily and is more of a extrovert. He don't seem to the academic type and always been labelled as street smart. When he was young, we asked what he wants to be when he grows up... His answer was \"I want to be a children\". In our mind, we are like... wow he sure know how to enjoy life huh.
3) Lawyer/ MP. Due to lots of \"why\"s. She is the most eloquent of the 3 and has is quick in her thinking. So we are hoping that she can make it big. She is probably my last hope being the youngest.
Er.... just my dream.

My DH definitely wants DS to take over him.. ...kept nagging at son this and that along the way.
For me, I just want him to have a job and be happy..

KSP:
[My greatest fear would be no job for them. All jobs taken over by FT and all our children happily making babies at home.
Actually, I keep telling them that they must master CL. For all we know, Singapore will not have that many jobs and they have to work in China???
Also, despite that we are leaving house for them. My mum raised this concern, we still need to make sure he does well. I told him that even if we were to leave the house for him, if he does not do well, he will not be able to afford the utility bills, etc....I painted a picture that he will probably have to sit in the car porch to have his maggie mee/ bread dinner. This is because he cannot afford utility bills and have to depend on the light shone by the nearby lamppost. He also probably got to bathe there when it's raining..... Bad huh -

MP? Another dream of mine! Married to MP!

There is a MP and President nearby my mum's place. So when we pass by the guard house, we would tell the little one.... oh if you become a MP one day, we can have a guardpost outside our house. Then I would be like.... wonder how do the policeman go to the toilet??? Walk to nearby coffeeshop? Use the MP's house?
But come to think about it.....I don't think I envy the PM or MP. How can they go shopping freely like us or do whatever as freely as the commoners. They will need guards,etc....
Not forgetting... .cannot join opposition. Later being sue how ??? :!: -
MMM,
Thanks for great idea.. ...will quote your story k..

I would like my DD to be a plastic surgeon. This is because I had her when I was 40 and by the time she graduates and becomes a doctor, it'll be ideal time for me to have a nip/tuck
Or if she's not that ambitious, she can share my ambition. When my ex-boss (CEO) complain that I'm not ambitious enough and how he wants to groom me to be the next CEO (upon his retirement). I flatly told him: \"Boss I don't want to be CEo, I want to be CEO's wife\" -

What a fun topic!
I have three kids. DH and I would lurrrrve for them to follow in our footsteps and we have lots of fun discussing who should be what. Of course DH wants them on his 'side' whereas I hyperventilate at the thought of germs, bacteria and... pus. So, ideally they should all be on MY side and become lawyers. Unfortunately for DH, our two boys freak out at the sight of blood, but they take after me and can talk a cow up a tree. So possibly I would 'win' based on total count. DD thinks she wants to be a physician or a vet, so I work hard to 'convert' her hahaha. -
I think it is not up to me to decide, afterall it is my child's life and she should take charge.
When she was young, she wanted to be a cashier not because of counting $$ but the ringing of the cash register interested her.
Then she wanted to work in a hair salon, because she liked to tie ribbons or hair clips on people's hair. Unfortunately I have short hair and she could only practise her skills on her dolls.
She wanted to be a teacher, so that she could give a lot of homework to the students. After realising she has to mark the work, she thought otherwise.
I lost track on her ambition!
