How would the "donation" be recorded in the schools account?
Would MOE have heard of such rumours and put in place mesures to prevent it? -

dmonddd, if you can substantiate even a fraction of these claims, please do everyone a favor by reporting it to the authorities who can do something about these felonies. We will all be better off if the authorities can uncover such irregularities and catch, punish and shame all parties involved if such unethical practices exist.it takes more courage for one not to commit fraud
declaring /writing in application form that they stay at residential address within 1km, 1-2km from school when they are not. truth will prevail when kids tell teachers, meet other parents etc etc etc

normally, this will happen in 2B phases onwards.
However, it is neither useful nor effective for you to post these allegations in a public forum, especially if you are unwilling or unable to provide first hand information pertaining to such acts. Your abstract comments will only serve to confuse people and sow the seeds of distrust between parents, and between parents and schools. We don't need that to add onto the stress that parents are already undergoing during this period.

Do you guys realised that stories about who and who buying their ways to the school of their choice are never first hand account, not even a 2nd hand account...it is always i hear from A who hear from B who also hear from C that who and who buy their way into schools.....
Honestly, if you are the one who bot your way into the school, would you tell? And if you dun tell and the school dun tell (for obvious reasons), then how would A, B, C knows?
I am puzzled...
But I do agree about the point of inactive church or associations members...Pbut PVs are real...they clock their hours...
Parents just want the best for their kids... help their kids open the door... the rest is up to them... -

It does appear that your unhappiness primarily stems from the existence of a Phase 2B which gives priority to affiliated clans, churches, PVs, etc.a glass can be half cup full or empty
and such comments are not posted for the 1st time in the forum.......am i pushing the point harder towards half cup empty. then i should lift my feet off the accelerator.
parents wont get stressed if they do the right thing.

if i'm registering my kid for school i want to do the right thing. same for all other parents who wont do nothing but sit by the fence.
and PVs can the schools reject but saying that we have old PVs who wish not to resign. then why have PVs phase? otherwise should not we go for PV balloting as well
Indeed, there has been much public debate over the need, fairness, and the existence of Phase 2B. This is a worthy topic to talk about, and to feedback to MOE so that it is aware of concerns at the ground and possibly take action to fine-tune the system.
However, debate over the fairness and practicability of rules is different from allegations that some people are bending the rules and getting away with actions that are, by the definition of the rules and jurisdiction, chargeable offences. We should not confuse these 2 situations, as they require very different responses.
To clarify:
- To question if schools should have PV schemes is an ethical debate which we encourage in our Forums.
- To allege that schools are abusing the PV scheme to profit from it is a criminal case, and require serious actions that should not be discussed in an open forum like this. -

if it is ok to accept application from parent who is GOING to stay in a property that is being TOP'd soon? or the parent may not after succssful in registration and may deprive others who are now staying within 1 km through balloting, then....
Are you questioning the MOE rules here or are you questioning the bahavior of the parents? If it is the MOE rules, then you should bring it up to MOE. If it is the behavior of the parents, I guess they did no wrong by working within the rule....some may say it is unfair, but whatever rules you have, there will surely be people who will work around the rules...
I am curious about the buying a place in the school? At which Phase would the school put them in? Are they buying a place in the school or are they buying a place to be PV? -

Yup, those in alumni register earlier.
Just wondering, will Phase 2A2 continue to be 'safe' for parents to register in the near future as well. This phase is for teachers who are teaching in school of choice, as well as siblings who have studied there and for children whose parents are old boys/gals. Will it continue to be guaranteed ? -

Not sure if I shld share the details... since lotsa \"sour grapes\" around...
She's not an old girl... her kid is 1st child... she's a SAHM... very active in ALL GRL/PV/Clan... and lotsa of PR work... and she was given confirmation before Phase 2B.... and very active in PSG after that...
She has \"retired\" from all these as her kid is in overseas U (scholarship) now.
Not every parents can do ALL GRL/PV/Clan... so I take my hat off her.
I don't think she got her kid in, at anyone's expense.
Just for open discussion... keep an open mind... different paths for different ppl
