Blackdas:
WRONG! Phase 2b, all applicants (GRL, religions, clan, PV) are lumped together. You only get separated by home distance to school.I just heard from a parent whose son is my son nursery classmate that the quota for GRL and PV are separate. That is to say if for example there are 50 slots for Phase 2B, 25 is for PV and 25 is from GRL. Which means a PV would not be able to take a GRL slot.
Is this true?

Blackdas:
And by the way, if u read the phase 2b letter issued to u by PA. Not only do one need to be a EM for 1 year to qualify for phase 2b, PA also expects one to continue to serve actively after the registration. Phase 2b thru GRL is tough work.Yes Mummy of 3 is rite... U need to serve at least a year of EM.
So i guess i was wrong. Sorry Fabbymum, its too late for the GRL way.
To add on, if this even crossed your mind, (well, it did for me). If u think yours is a GRC and there's a really good school which u are interested in but out of the 2km. Moving closer to school does not improve your chances, bcos it will invalid your phase 2b status. If phase 2b is obtained thru RC, it is tagged on to your address and therefore zone. Changing home address will therefore kick one out of phase 2b. -

Let just say no one i knew who went by the GRL route has quited right after they obtain the phase 2b priority and even if one tried to do so, it will be very hard as one would have been holding a post for a certan term.
so what if you dont serve actively after registration..post event. disqualified thereafter. child evicted from school? cmon i lol on this one
Of course one can quit for all they want, but remember this is a RC u joined in your neighbourhood, u will bound to meet these people reqularly. ANd really, no one has tried and no one will never know whether PA will withdraw your eligibility once u quit (supposedly the child has not started primary 1 like this period) -
Agreed with b2b3m4, using RC route to be in phase 2b is a lot lot hardwork.
My hubby is a grassroot leader, he is alway so busy with the RC meeting. -
My hubby is also one, the hours contributed is definitely more than the school, even some schools require 80 hours. I

^ Iโm glad u ladies understand where i am coming from. Just felt a bit indignant when someone made a mockery of this whole GRL priority. When hubby needs to attend such meetings or do door-to-door sales of tickets, i need to rush home, get dinner ready earlier and thrown with the feeding, bathing and caring of 3 kids back from childcare centre. Not to mention weekends that are burnt for more community activities and courses (like civil defense, dialogue etc).

lots of sour grapes around -
Hi b2b3m4,
I agree with you totally! I also have 3 kids, and whenever my hubby goes for his community activities,I m left alone handling them, which many doesn't understand. Many think it's easy to be in RC than PV.

What is happening? :?
I3mum, same same here. Haha.
b2b3m4, understand your feeling. Because whether my hubby is going for any activities we will need to rush back too.
Somtime my girls will say how come daddy got so many meeting to attend at night. They miss their daddy.
We really put in a lot of hardwork and effort to qualify in phase 2b. -
Hi lizuan76,
Not sure too, maybe some donโt see it the same way as us?
Btw Have any of your kids registered under phase 2B yet? Can you share the experience of getting the letter till registration?
