hi yipee. Can anyone tell me if it is very stressful in ai tong?
A friend who had a kid in Tao Nan said that his kid was expected to know everything and the teachers mainly did revision in class. Apparently, the kids in schools like ATS and TN will take enrichment classes and tuition in order to cope with school. Is this true?
now a days most of the kids take up enrichment class outside, is actually parent feel they wan to give their kids more and can be more outstanding in sch. i dont feel ats is very stress, i think other sch is even more stress, which i hv come to know sch in sengkang during the PSLE exam they go back for extra lesson after the paper and even children day also go back to sch and take extra lesson. But ats never does these lor, as what i see fr the pass yr my kids go through, i think they hv reasonable hw. -
Hi,
I saw the updated statistics and am extremely concerned. This is the first year that balloting has to be done for those within 1 km under Phase 2B. Does anyone know what is the reason? Higher number of PV, SHHK members? What is the intake for the PV this year?
Also, if balloting is required under Phase 2B, are those staying within 1 km ballot together within those between 1 and 2 km?
Getting concerned because I am soon moving to within 1 km but it does not seem like an advantage anymore. -
omg, balloting within 1km for phase 2B? i’m trying my girl for ATS under this phase next year AND im staying out of 1km! Most likely a gone case…

yeah this year ai tong quite hot, going for balloting for volunteers < 1km…
but the situation is crazy at catholic high, where theres only 9 places for 2B and 9 for 2C… the volunteers there stand less than 20% chance of getting in!
imagine their frustration, and the current dilemma - stay and ballot in an even bigger pool at 2C knowing their volunteering had been in vain, or choose another less desirable school…
cant imagine their anguish right now… -
Hi
just like what nothing2do said, most parents wants their kids do take up enrichment classes as we cant really teach them sometimes. Science is one subject that is tough, Math is also getting tougher and tougher, plus both languages, especially higher MT. (p.s outsourcing may seems the better choice)
My boy usually will try to complete the bulk of school work in school. My boy’s homework is reasonable at this moment, he is P4 this year.

well, my understanding is that recommendation letters for Aitong is not easy to get from SHHK. So the competition is there. Good luck with your decision!

For ex-students who wish to go back during Teacher's day, please take note of this notice. http://www.aitong.moe.edu.sg/
Dear Ex-Ai Tong pupils,
Due to the inaugural YOG events, we have scheduled our CA2 examination to 27 August – 3 Sept 2010. Hence, we need to postpone our Teachers' Day celebration to 16 Sept 2010 (Thur).
To coincide with our Teachers' Day celebration, the alumni and the school are organizing a home coming event on 16 Sep 2010. This is to enable you to meet your beloved teachers at the same time.
Please be informed that the visitation hour on Home Coming Day (16 Sept 2010) is as follows:
Time : 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Venue : Ai Tong School Hall
You are encouraged to register your attendance in the Ai Tong School Facebook or e-mail to alumni e-mail address : [email protected] as the alumni is organizing a simple tea reception for this event.
We would appreciate it if you could adhere strictly to these visitation hours as the school is continuing their school operation on that day. For those who are still in JC or Secondary School, we would love to see you coming back in your JC or Secondary School uniform.
Thank you for your cooperation.
