Hi, I live just within 2km of NCPS. What you parents opinion of me joining SHHK or PV? Or should I just go for 2C?

For NCPS, there is no chance for u at all in phase 2c. However even if u shld be able to register in phase 2b, there is a high risk for balloting for more than 1 km.

As for which to volunteer, it really depends on your time avaible to volunteer.

How to apply?

You can call up SHHK and indicate your interest. I think at the joining form they do ask if you are keen. Once you're in, whenever there is activity, they will send out emails asking for participants.

You just have to be very careful and smart about your SHHK volunteer work. There have been too many instances whereby a certain member volunteers for several events and has joined for 2-3 years and still did not receive a recommendation letter.

The reason why some get recommended, or not, simply due to the popularity of the school they are interested in. The clan has constraints to recommend everyone.

For example Tao Nan and Ai Tong are the favourite among members, thus a cut off is set in order to get recommended due to overwhelming demand.

i believe that SHHK would very much like to issue letters to every member that requested for it but is constrainted by the schools who have limited vacancies & have to cater to PV & Grassroots Leaders too.

It is the Huay Kuan membership. They never say must be Huay Kuan leadership

Do they take attendance when you attend all their functions ?

Told my boss to join SHHK NOW when the bb is still in her tummy.... 6 years of membership for her by the time she register + some participation = hopefully a recommendation letter.

yup need to plan early… source for SHHK members in order to join unless i take the risk to fall under phrase 2C.
