Precisely, regardless of whether that child is PR or SC. It's already Phase 2C and staying within 1km. For 2 kids, surely the principal can spare that heartbreak. Even if news spread, I don't think anyone will be so heartless to say NOT to take in 2 kids.

Well. that depends thou.. maybe they have some guidelines to follow..? Or maybe it's regulated by MOE..

Because, afterall, there are many schools that still have vacancies.. Unless the parent can claim that within 1 km there is no other schools.. then maybe it's a compelling enough reason for the school to make an exception..?

btw, I noticed that the no. of applicants actually increase from 83 to 97, then decrease to 74.


I suspect that the various schools actually make an effort to call up the parents > 1km to inform them of the situation, and to advise them to maybe try their "2nd choice" school for a better chance… Hence the number changes due to new registrations and withdrawals…

Initially I went to another primary school which is >1km… after waiting about 30mins, 1 of the staff wrote on the board "balloting for <1km"… Like that no need to try liao… So I straight away go to another primary school…

I guess it’s quite common for some parents to go to a few places…

Well, at least for the P1 reg exercise there's still ample warning & opportunity to \"Change Course\"..

Just called.. the school got 70 vacancies and 70 applicants within 1km.. so all got in.. no need to ballot.. yipee....

My impression is alumni means you studied at the school before.. i.e. it is your alma mater..
