Yes we know, KS-son. Our kids are dumbos. :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
Your kids are not dumbos. You will not even have a chance to go for DSA if your kids are dumbos. I believe every details has to be taken care if we do not have the privillige of skipping GATs.kiasuson:
Please also bear in mind to prepare your child to be honest if he applies for a few schools. I have friends' child who answer they only applied for the school and were given a scolding from the interviewer. They did badly on the interview and did not get offer.
If you are not highly talented or gifted, all these minor details will help you in DSA..
If your child is a GEP student and meet the minimum criteria, you will not have all this concerns.
But during DSA, GEP will have the slight advantages. With careful planning and motivation, mainstream students still able to make it. -
So will GEP have higher chance or guaranteea place in DSA?

As long as they meet the minimum criteria, they will go straight for Interview and no GAT. They will not have a headache of co-ordinating the GAT results.
For NJC and NUSH, no privillege. They will still need to take the admission test. -
KSP,
The answer to your first question is a resounding YES!!!.GEP students definitely have a greater chance of entering a school (may or may not be their dream school) via DSA. -
How about GEP apply for RI/RGS via DSA? Good chance, guarantee or still need to sit for tests?
-
csc:
Yes, GEP students have a higher chance. I have previously read slides presented to P6 GEP students on DSA (can't remember from which school). Slides indicate that about 85% of GEP students are admitted into IP programs thru DSA.KSP,

Compare this percentage with any top non GEP class. I don't think you will get anything close to this number. -

Based my son's experience last year, for RI, GEP students scoring below average of 80% in their mid-year exams will still have to sit for GAT. Not all GEP applicants get into their choice school through DSA, though I think there is a slight advantage. -

Go to the website and check if your child meet the criteria. I think you need to achieve an average of 80% for P4, P5 and P6(mid year) exam results.
Good luck. -
