IMO, I feel that childcare has benefitted my gal a lot more. She is an only child at the moment so I like her to spend more time in school. Otherwise, will just keep on watching TV when she goes home
Hi Kaitlynangelica
Thanks for ur sharing. I had listed Faith as one of my choices too if I want my son to attend a cc. I had toyed with enroling my son in cc since last month, but had not decided cos he has two other siblings to play with at home. He is the middle child. I am careful not to aggravate the middlechild syndrome. He may feel unwanted if he is the only one going to cc and the others stay at home. Yet I feel that he has a lot of spare time wasted at home. Mostly just playing his toys, and at times, he gets to play DS and Wii. Tough decision… -

[Son was poked by pen with at least 20 pen dot marks around his rib cage. Another time, he had a few long pen lines drawn on his legs and arm. I was pretty angry seeing the lack of action from the school.]
[I heard that Pei Hwa has a large capacity, is there no chance? I have no issue enrolling my gal cos I am an old gal there.
Hello panicmum,
That's really too much, I will demand an answer from the principal and teacher if it happens to my girl and will request to speak to the bully mum. No wonder you are so angry, i think if this happen to any other mummies child, no one will keep mum abt it. U mean the school really did nothing abt it? I wonder if this boy is still continuing with the kindy, hopefully not. Has he bullied your child for a long period? I mean I can understand sometimes when children play, they start to be rough but to this extent is really unforgivable lor.
I did write in for PV but looking at past stat, over 2km has no chance or ballot...so I think I might as well go to somewhere where my chances is higher lor. So lucky, no need to go thr the agony of Phase 2C..

Hi panicmum,
Tot of sending your son to enrichment class after his kindy so at least aft time is being occupied than idling at home. Actually when he has companion, at least not that bored afterall in the afternoon. Playing is also a form of learning.

Try Arise Kindergarten. It’s quite near your home too spikey.
Read my earlier comments…till this day, (dd is p1 now) I can’t forget how they traumatized my daughter. -
Hi,
My son is born in Year 2009 and I’m considering of enrolling him for N1 at Glory Kindergarten next year. I heard that it’s quite a popular school around Bukit Timah. I called up the school and realize that it’s circriculum is 4hrs vs the usual 3 hrs in other kindergartens. Also other then the school fees, there’s a conponent that consist of insurance, materials, speech n drama etc that adds up to $390, that’s a compulsory payment to be paid each term. Which means inclusive of school fees, I’m looking at $1200 each term if I’m going to put my son there next year, from N1 all the way to K 2. Any advise or feed backs from mothers? Is it worthit? Thanks! -
Hi Blessed Mommy,
I signed up my girl for Glory Kindy eventually in 2008 and she graduated from the school last yr. I feel that the school prepares the children well for P1 curriculum and the work assigned is appropriate. However, there are little interaction with parents.
On the flipside, my boy is with Arise Kindy. I can’t comment his K2 work yet cos he was at Nursery when I placed him there and now at K1 level. If comparing K1 for both schools, Arise seems a lot easier. However, I like it that there are a load of parents-teachers-children interaction involved. Hence, you feel like a part of the school. Also this school is more suited for my boy who is not so academic inclined.
Hence, I tried both schools and my advice is choose one that suits your child best. Hope this is useful. -
Hi Luvmom,
When u mention there is little interaction btw the Teachers Children & Parents…I wonder is there a Teachers and Parents meet up session at all at the end of each term? My eldest boy Kindergarten provides it and it is really good as we are able to access his performance and recognises his shortcomings. Btw, the reason I’m not putting my 2nd boy in the same school is becoz we had since shifted.
Also, you mentioned that your boy is with Arise Kindergarten…are there lesser homework there since you mention that the pressure academically in Glory is higher?
In fact, I’m considering between Marmount and Glory. Arise came into the picture, since you mention it:) You may wonder the distance in all…hahaaaaaa I’m actually prepared to put my boy on a sc hool bus, as long as he can get into a good school.
Thanks for you comments and advise…
