Did any of you look at the Phase 2C stats for the schools in this area? The demand cannot meet the supply at all!! How can that be? U live in that area but can't get into any school within this area.

Some kids spend 3 hrs on road to travel to schools in this area depriving others who live near to it not able to get in. Sometimes I just wonder why parents want to put their kids through such travelling 'torture'. I rather my kid spend the time in revising work or sleeping comfortably at home. They are so young, can't protect themselves if anything happen on the bus.

The demand can't meet supply b/c of all the students travelling there from all over the island! Despite the area's population density is among the lowest in the country (correct me if I'm wrong).

Just an idea: how about MOE moves one of the most popular schools, e.g. NYPS or RGPS away from this area? They are not supported by good infrastructure in the first place. Then all the traffic problems in the area will be solved. But of course property owners in that area will strongly object

Since all parents from all over SGP are willing to send their kids to the school, MOE should move the school to a more centrally location and build a SUPER CAMPUS, likes ITE Simei and ITE Choa Chu Kang, to accomodate the kids, so everybody will be happy......Just look at our Raffles family in Bishan.....

Hi Minnie2004,

What I mean is good things should at least be maintained. There will be more jams now cos pple living near to the school can’t get in and will have to travel to other further schools.

To reduce the jam, one way maybe to limit the vacancies in Phase 2A as I believe most pple come from out of 2km. E.g. maybe can restrict based on distance or contribution to schools. This can help to cut down the cars on roads, reduce pollution in air, etc. Haha. . just my wishful thinking.

Yes. I understand not all who registered especially in Phase 2A live in this area. What I mean is MOE should look at the whole registration process. How can the no. of vacancies not enough to supply to the residents in the area? There are definitely a lot of pple whose prim schools were no longer around, travelling distance too far for other schools, kids are first born, no $$ to move, etc, thus can't register in earlier phases. A lot of pple think that pple in this area are well off. However, I do have friends and neighbours living in this vicinity who are not.

Actually the 2 who will be ballot out can put their names in the waitlist. Chances of them getting in within the first years will be high.

I don't think so. But those 2 can walk straight to the general office and put their names in the waitlist after the balloting. Who else can be faster than them if they are already in the school?

how to move the school ? NYPS is on founder's land,RGPS just shifted all the way there recently
