Also, the 1km limit should only apply to those who have stayed at that location for at least 2 to 3 years prior to registration - so that not everyone can just "buy" their way to a school.

I think she sang at concerts...not sure how this would add up to 80hoursWah!! I wonder what does she PV?? Traffic warden? Painting of classroom? Reading to the kids?
If it is the first one aka Traffic warden -- i think she will cause more traffic congestion -- cos im sure everyone would stop and ask for her autographs!! :rahrah: -

...just PRs, who enjoy the benefits only and do not give back to the country ....
more over, get this: PRs can go ballot, if fail never mind, can always go international school. SCs, if fail in the ballot, REAL big problem: SC will have to be posted to a local school. SC cannot go to international school. (ok , can, but you must appeal to MOE, with strong reasons, etc).
that's why for PR, there is nothing to lose for a ballot.
SC should really be given priority in education, medical, and welfare benefits. This is the norm in every country. If I go US/Aussie, I'm prepared to be treated as 2nd class simply because I'm not native there. -
i must apologise to the forumers here if i sounded like iβm anti-establishment, i am not. in fact i am appreciative of alots of things that i enjoyed or taken for granted today.
If not for the baby bonus, my wife would not have enjoyed the substantial tax rebates. But they should not have taken away the graduate mother scheme, most of us here would not have to work their butt out to secure a place for their children. if not for the immigration policy, i would never dare dream of becoming a millionaire by flipping of properties. Today, i am contented being a daddy-at-home or penguin daddy looking after my 3 children, whether they get into elite school or not. if not for the national security, i would not have the chance to enjoy the fruits here by bragging about it in this forum. I like our present gahmen, but not to the extend of proselytising.
My children reminded me that i must recite the national pledge and sing the national anthem. for those who has forgotten, hereβs the pledge, "We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society, based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation". -
