As for your son, you may want to tell him to complain to the teacher if someone hits him?

Ya, must again remind him to do so.

My boy is a very sociable person, can make friends everywhere. Dun know what exactly went wrong with some classmates in this class. Before the sch hols, someone took his Lock&Lock water bottle away. The FT qn a boy as another classmate told my boy he saw this boy kicked the water bottle and another classmate said this boy threw the bottle out of the window. I wrote to the FT asking her to investigate, in the end, no conclusion as no one admitted to the wrong doing.

We did not hv such issues when my boy was in P1/P2. Is it boys growing up issue? More dare to disturb pple? I did not hv such issue during my elder boy's pri sch days leh. :?

It all depends on how the FT disciplines the class. Earlier on, the classes (Ch2 - Joy3) that came into the room for the game simply got rowdier and rowdier, especially the boys. However, there was this class - Humility 2 - which impressed me cos the teacher was so organised and also asked the class to thank the teacher-in-charge of the game before they left. The ONLY class to do that!! Even the CH2 kids did not do so, but then...their FT was not with them, so different story la. Anyway, kids do tend to play up if their FT is not strict with them or set certain rules with the class. My dd's class will automatically silent-read or do silent activities if there is no teacher in class, as instructed. Her FT must have used an effective method to discipline them.

I really hope something will be done to these bullying and stealing issues, cos frankly, studies aside, the kids' well-being in school is one of the most important things we should address too, especially cultivating a sense of integrity and responsibility. Isn't education supposed to be holistic?

In the past, I got my students to ambush in class or across the corridors to nap the culprit.

          Wow, very exciting leh.

Oh Yes, it sure was. A couple of boys and garang girls became detectives...Haha...we did catch the \"thief\" red-handed after a couple of days when he struck again. I believed thefts happened in many schools, but if the problem is not resolved, it might just aggravate. For those whose kids are victims, it's better to highlight to the respective personnel (Discipline Head) so that something practical can be done to stop this.

[My boy has been missing things on and off since P1, but this time, he says it is suspected theft as the things went missing after they gone n returned from music room.

When my DD is in P1/P2, this happens to her too, so I asked her not to bring nice eraser and pencils to school. Adivse her to keep these thinss in the pencil case and inside the bag and size up the bag before leaving the class for tiolet/music room/canteen etc. Make it more difficult for someone to take/steal.
At the end, it seem quite effective.

So far, my son didn’t have this problem of theft in school TOUCHWOOD.

Just that his friends use his stationery and don’t have the habit of returning. So I don’t replace what is missing in his pencil case and he will bug them to return to him.

I don’t let him bring nice erasers/pencils to school either.

it is supposed to slow down the progress of myopia. my son's myopia increases by more than 100 every year. 😞

it was in a recent news article: http://news.xin.msn.com/en/singapore/article.aspx?cp-documentid=4038363
