Popular schools will remain popular...then PRs arrive and ask around about schools, they will join the queue too. In order to have better chance, either one will then convert to SC for that 2 ballot slip.

Easier said, enjoy the long weekend first.
Based on the information available on MOE website, it is the citizenship of the child that matters, not the parents.. so the parent convert SC also no use.. althou that would be a natural pre-requisite before the child can apply SC..

Category 1: Children who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

Category 2: Children who are neither Singapore Citizens nor Singapore Permanent Residents

          Poor PRs! :?

A PR told me it's harder to apply SC now... apply PR for his family also harder... now his wife (SAHM) cannot covert to PR... so cannot give birth in SG... went back native country give birth then come back SG... now the baby not PR also...

          :? :? :? :?

My son’s tutor from China has converted to SC after studying here since poly. She is a teacher. She gave birth few months back and her daughter is a SC. Her hubby is applying to be SC now.

It’s hard to apply to be PR now, let alone SC. Govt realized that there are many PRs here already.

Hi everyone. Will the school call the parents whose son/daughter will undergo balotting? Sorry because i am a working mother (with a very demanding boss who ask many things&meetings to do) and was not able to call the school last week to know the time of the balloting. Can help enlighten me, thanks.

You should already know the distance between the sch & your residence. MOE website has published at which category of distance will there be balloting. You can go check there.

Thanks for your reply. Thats why i just want to know whether its part of the procedure to call the parents. I know that we could determine already who will join the ballot. But the time they will conduct the ballotting is not announce in the website of MOE nor the school. But just to be clear, most of the time i browse the net is in the evening.fewer times is early morning while i am inside the train going for work. Anyways, i will just wait for wednesday to call the school as tuesday is also holiday. Have a nice weekend!

                      Refer to 6th post at

                      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6280&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1880

Apparently some schools do SMS the parents of the need to ballot..

not sure if it is common practice thou.

btw, during registration, the school would have given out a paper titled \"Announcement\" right?

On the right most is \"Date/Time of Ballot (if any)\".

For the school that I applied, it is stated 13/Aug/2010, 9am. All schools should be 13/Aug I guess. Not sure of the time.

Try to find the paper, if there is 1.
