Actually , everyone should do what they love. Really love. Then its not work - its happiness. If my children can find that profession that they are passionate about , then they are very lucky. Bcos you can do it day in and out , and grow with it .
The ultimate job is that we would do even if we are not paid for it. We need to keep searching till we find it....

That’s a wonderful poem by Kahlil Gibran.
It’s clear in this poem that the archer and 'HE" refers to a supreme being,
whatever name you may know HIM by.
In ImMeeMee’s contribution,
who/what does the archer refers to?
Does it refer to personal struggle within oneself?

but to b realistic, i hope she can become a doctor - pediatrician to be exact. cos i hope she wil have her own children next time n stil be able to hold a job wif flexible hours (since doctor can decide on her own consultation hours) n can be her own childrens' paed - save money on medical bills
But if a patient is admitted at wierd hours, the paediatrician still need to come to the hospital to check on the child. So I am not so sure about the flexible hours. Just like gynae. If someone wants to give birth in the middle of the night, they need to rush to the hospital. -

Aye aye to that. I don't think it should be considered idealistic but essential. Which is why DH and I believe that the childhood years are essentially for self-discovery and creativity. This is the time to develop hobbies, dabble in different stuff, have your favourite collections, daydream etc. From this, the child will have an idea of his area of interests, as well as area of strengths (not always the same). This self-knowledge is important as it can both guide the path to fulfillment and excellence, and also prevent burnout.
