Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Very happy to stumble upon this thread when i was doing some research on my son's future school. We are very lucky to be within 1 km and thus spared the anxiety of balloting on friday 13th.

I look forward to interacting with the mummies and daddies here whose single main focus is in the interest of their kids ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi PepperC,
Hi, my boy will be starting P1 next year at MS. We stay in Toa Payoh and I'm still trying to find out how long is the school bus journey between school and home. I've called up the school bus operator but she's not able to give me an indication.

I would appreciate it if anyone who have kids taking the school bus to/from Toa Payoh can share on the journey time. Thanks

        Hi Lizzyho,

My sons take daily bus fm school back to my mum's place in Toa Payoh Lorong 2. It takes around half an hour to reach home.

Thanks so much VVJJ. I guess you mean half an hour from time of dismissal, right? Doesn't seem too bad. Is it a big bus or the mini bus?
Hi Lizzyho,

It's from the time they board the bus. Class ends 115pm from Tues to Fri. They reach Toa Payoh bus stop around 150pm. It really depends on the driver's route. Hence it might change again next yr. It's a big bus ..

              Honey:
              MS is a single session school P1 - Sec 4 all morning. Mon 7.10am - 1.45pm, Tue - Fri 7.10am - 1.15pm.
              Pls see above.

                I have a question:

I have a friend whose son is in P1 this year and I am told in MS, kids at levels P1-P3 are not allowed to buy food from canteen. It is either catered or bring from home.

May I check, how about those kids who take CCAs after class? How do they settle their lunch?

My friend was complaining the canteen food is expensive.
One more question, how much daily allowances is considered enough for them?

                Thank you!

Yes, P1 - P3 is either catered or bring from home.

For those who stay back for supplementary or CCA, they are allowed to buy food from canteen food.

Yes, canteen food is not cheap & I feel the portion is too much for P1s, even for the bigger eaters. For lunch allowance, $2/- not inclusive of drinks hor.

Actually, there is really not much of a necessity to give allowance cos what's there to buy afterall recess is either catered food or food from home? Unless that allowance is for bookshop treats ๐Ÿ˜„ .
