      joajoa:
hi , any kids in Toa Payoh PAP ? like Toa Payoh North Blk 205 one ? is it good ? thank !

and how much r the school fees for PAP nursery ? 2hr or 3hr ?
      Hi joajoa,

My kids in K1 at PAP Blk 205. I think its so so only after reading the threads fr some parents comments on their kid's PAP sch. 🙂

Mthly sch fees for nursery fr $101.90 to $203.80 vary every mth depends on diff expenses (Singaporean fees. PR or foreigner fees will be higher). Nursery is 3 hrs here.

      Some info for ur ref:
      - teachers use lotsa chinese language to talk to students.
      - got malay teacher in this sch whom will teach malay and english language.
      - In nursery, they got weekly 1 or 2 pgs of hand writing homework for chinese and english.
      - nursery chinese homework like: 大,小,上,下,口,人,天,头,山,公,中,门,田,刀,有,见,云,今,月,水,巴,拉,日,东 etc...
      - English homework: A to Z, a to z and some simple words like bad, and, can, den, fin, gig, hum, ink, jug, lip, kid, mop, peg, rat, nag, sit, tap etc...
      - chinese teacher taught the poems with cute actions too like 床前明月光.../ 小白兔,白又白.../ 星期一呀,星期二呀.../ 小小鸭,扁嘴巴.../ 锄禾日当午... etc...
      - english teacher taught some simple nursery rhymes and songs.
      - teachers taught 10 story bks for english and 10 for chinese too.
      - got diff rm for diff class. Quite comfortable space. Not using temp partition.
      - separate toilets for boy/gal/staff.
      - diff snacks daily like biscults/conflakes/cakes/noodle/porridge

      Hope it helps.

        Hi,

It seems like PAP kindergarten standards are pretty high. That makes me wonder what’s so special about the private kindergartens. My son is coming 2.5 this June and I am torn between giving him free exploration of his interests versus preparing him academically at this young age. Any advice.

I will be returning back to Singapore end July and am wondering if I should enroll my elder son who should be attending K2 this year, to a kindergarten or enrichment classes. He has been attending school over here in China but the standard is not as comparable as K2 in Singapore. He will be attending P1 in 2010. any advice or recommendations of good enrichment courses?

They engaged a teacher from julia gabriel for the program, honestly, I like the program coz they'll prepare the kids for a short skid (according to the theme of the term) and parents will be invited for the performance. As parents, we'll be updated with the progress of the kids and I believe the kids will also feel proud and rewarding to be able to perform in front of their parents.

My boy doesn't take the school bus (it's ard $70/mth). I'll go fetch him everyday.

                hi weishy,
do refer to magg's replies http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=302&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=135 on telok blangah sparkletots.

sparkletots is a PCF childcare (refer to the short discussion on http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=302&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=105 page).

                    Hi joajoa,

                    U r welcome... 🙂

For nursery, if im not wrong, mak is 15. But it depends too. Sometimes got child quit fr class n switch to childcare or versa or got new intake. Last yr ratio was +/- 11:1 for my kids class.

                    Nursery fr 9am to 12noon or 1pm to 4pm.

Anyone has any feedback with Sparkletots at Jelebu Road? It’s a relatively new childcare in Bt. Panjang.

Since he is coming from China, can I assume he has no problems with Chinese? And if you have been conversing with him in English, he should have no problems with that either. The only thing left is to determine:
                        1. His reading capability. Can he read simple story books?
                        2. His math capability. Can he do simple sums and subtractions?

If the answer is yes to all of these questions, he should be ok in Primary 1.
