If you're near YT, i'd suggest you keep your child's name there on waitlist.

Oh dearie me... not to sadden you further but looks like only Kranji wud be most likely available to you. Are you near to Kranji as well, since you 1st applied at YT? Cos both schools are near to one another..

I stay at CCK crescent and YT and Kranji is within 1 km...

I thought I could help as I have been doing some research on Kranji.I think it is not true that the principal was from YT. I think the new kranji principal is from Loyang in Pasir Ris I think. The previous principal has rotated to Canberra Pri Sch. Hope this helps

KPS's previous principal Mr. Sam Wong Poo Mun, now principal of Canberra Primary.
KPS's current principal Mrs. Chin Shin Wea, previously principal of Loyang Primary school (not YTPS).

YTPS's previous principal Mrs. Brenda Tan retired in 2008 (also the year YTPS produced top PSLE pupil, you can find archive of newspaper reports).
YTPS's current princiapl is Mrs. Janis Kok, previously VP of Fengshan primary.

In short, it is not true the ex-YTPS principal is now principal of KPS.
but I can GUESS the rumours/confusion you heard COULD be because YTPS's first principal was a Mrs. Chin. She also retiried and she was succeeded by Mrs. Brenda Tan.


As for KPS, there must be some reasons why this school and TWPS have vacancies in phase 3 year after year ?

Can parents here share more abt kranji primary? I may have to send my girl there in the next phase… Suppl phase… Got balloted out from DLS… So disappointed… Any parents witness the balloting , was there 2 slips placed inside? So unlucky …

Hi healthyfatso yes i was there at the balloting session and yes they showed on the screen 1/2 and 2/2 with every singaporean child's name up on the projector screen.

You are correct to take into account the P factor.


Let me share what SV Jenny said during one of the sch occasion when there were parents and channel 8 Media…
"If your child wishes to join SV, parents should to be prepared to be interviewed by Media."
"Pri schs in Singapore are generally good, but there are differentiation"

Sch P moulds the sch culture & vision.
B4 2004, SV results was just average…
From 2004, Jenny joined the sch…

If you speak to current Sec sch teachers in CCK area, you will know the difference of the Sec 1 students performance formerly from DLS and from SV…
Over the years, DLS standard dropped quite a bit…

In reality, at phase 2C supp, only Kranji & Teck Whye have enuf vacancies. So…only limited choices…


Concord & CCK Pri sure balloting at phase 2C supp, for within 1KM.
And if ballot-out in phase 2C supp, then will b phase 3, which is "1st come 1st register basis"

Just can't understand that since YT got so many applicants why they reduce the seats to 240 and Kranji so less ppl apply but have 270 seats!!! :stupid:

what's the logic behind? since less popular and yet give so many seats for what? sigh...let's see the what the new principal can do for Kranji now...
