Had heard that even if u got offer from the school u still got to meet their cop otherwise u will not get into that schoo./// for example if the cop is 260, then even if u got confirm letter from the school, u must also score at least 260 :!: is that true

definitely NOT true. Clarified that with principals concerned. The baseline is 200 for express, not 260 or whatever, else no point doing DSA exercise

Taken from the MOE website (http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec/😞

A student who indicates his preference for a school which had given him a Confirmed Offer will be guaranteed a place in the school, provided that he is eligible for a course (e.g. Express) which is offered by the school.

Hope this clears up any confusion... πŸ˜„

This morning my boy told me regardless of DSA result, he trusts that his PSLE score will get him into his dream school.

The DSA process is good for his self discovery and learning.
        that's the spirit :celebrate:
all the best for the PSLE

Yes I am very sure. It’s on the same week Tuesday before the Saturday camp. When you go online to accept the camp invitation, it will prompt you if you are going for the tea session, I did not attend as I am not free on the Tuesday afternoon. I guess you accept the camp invitation after Tuesday that’s why it doesnt show.

HCI says all DSA results (regardless of categories of applicants) will be released on 20 Aug.

Did you get this information from HCI recently, or is this information taken from their school website on DSA? The reason I am asking is that last year, their website said the DSA results would be released \"by 21 Aug\" but according to some, they received email notification on 14 Aug which was one week early. Thanks.

                    Hi, everyone.

DD just checked with some of her classmates who applied for NJC and NONE has gotten any reply thus far.

Deduction: either all of DD's classmates are not selected for Round 2 or there is a delay of reply by NJC, contrary to what they have indicated earlier in the week. πŸ˜›
πŸ˜› This is so nerve-wrecking! I just want some closure. At least when no hope already can focus on PSLE. :stupid:

Anyway good luck to those waiting!

                      Take a look at this web-site: http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/dsa-sec/participating-schools/

If you look at the list of secondary schools participating in the DSA for 2011 Sec 1 intake, you will see that some schools offer only 'Express' stream and other offer 'Normal Technical' (NT) , 'Normal Academic' (NA) and 'Express'streams. So if you have CO from a school that offers only 'Express' stream, then you must have a PSLE t-score that is above the COP for 'Express' stream to be joining that school for Sec 1 under DSA.

Would like to highlight that DSA is not only for gaining admission to 'top' schools like RI or specialised schools like NUSH. There are also secondary schools with 'niche programs' (e.g. hockey, floorball) which P6 students who have talents in the specified niche areas can apply too. The student intake under DSA for such schools is upto 5%.

Another type of secondary schools are those which are autonomous. The intake for these schools under DSA is upto 10%. Not sure what are the criteria for admission to these schools.

This DSA exercise is governed by MOE, so it would be good to check out this website as a good reference source:
