[Choa Chu Kang] Primary Schools
-
All schools gotta go single session by a certain deadline (forgot the year..) and so they got to factor in that there will be sufficient classes for the number of students offered to study there each year.
Initially the dateline for all primary schools to go single session was 2016. Earlier this year, it was delayed to 2017. -

ikae:
hi, you meant can put my gal's name on waitlist at YT?
Yes, dearie. :hugs:
Waitlisting your child's name there will deem you're definitely still interested
in the school regardless if your child is already enrolled elsewhere. Many who
got balloted out from SV and DLS do still put their children's names on waitlist
and they are ready to make the shift and all the necessary sacrificial changes
that come with it, especially if they are really really near to the school & yet
still got balloted out due to limited vacancies. Do call the school to find out
more, ok ikae? Different schools will have different protocol.
Misleading infor...
There are more details about wait list... and how it works.
Phase 2C children on wait list is of lowest priority of being selected in the event of vacancy arises.
Timing too is another factor... -
mhtan:
Hi mhtan: thanks for your valuable suggestion! hmm...hope that one day they will call me if there is vacancy! Anyway, will the principal willing to meet parents? just feel that principal is always busy busy... hope i am wrong!Hi buds, ikae for the encouragement ... feel that my confidence is getting better aleady
Yes, I agree that we need a principal to settle down to see how effective he/she is. From what i heard (but need to be verified), the previous principal in Kranji is quite active in sports in the school and school has sent students for competition locally and overseas.
Hi ikae, would encourage to place your gal on waitlist. Would suggest that you might you to try to speak/meet to the staff/principlal of both schools (YT/Kranji). From there, at least you would have some gut feeling on how they are. Also, check out the website on Loyang where the current Kranji principal was from on their 2009 PSLE results. This would provide you you some indication as well. I recall correctly, I think except for Chinese, all other subjects are above national average. Hope this helps.
Cheers and all the best to all parents for P2C Supp.
So u meant that Loyang school results are not bad? hmm...
yeah i think the previous principal of Kranji is active in sports..if u see the fields u will know. My niece told me that the football field was made by carpet, expensive & quality type haha! -

KP:
I stand by what i posted. Different schools have different protocol.Misleading infor...There are more details about wait list... and how it works. Phase 2C children on wait list is of lowest priority of being selected in the event of vacancy arises. Timing too is another factor...
I suggested by what i have knowledge of based on my experience
and of friends'. Lowest priority or not and timing are whole other
factors that definitely requires further detailing... which we can
PM one another abt and not necessarily discussed here.
KP, If you are here to assist parents with your knowledge since you
ARE in the industry, i suggest that positive suggestions be posted here
as your form of constructive contribution which i'm sure many will benefit
from. -

I roughly remembered it as 2016 but don't want to
put it up on my post in case there were adjustments
to the deadline or also in the case i remembered wrongly,
hahaa! -

Thanks buds, after seeing your reply make me feel better now...if not i thought the last chance also gone!
Yeah had filled up the form today and now every day i praying hard to receive call from the school...and we can meet up the principal if she has time to meet us! -
I'm glad you have at least settled that part of the paper work.
Guess the rest is up to ermm...... fate...
Whatever it is, the important thing is to now still
secure a school for your girl's P1 education for
next year, regardless of which school you get
at this point in time. I'm :xedfingers: for you
on your waitlist result. Take care. :hugs: -
