Definitely. Lots to see just for the uniqueness...

The BBQ tako at the piers... Pirate ship cruise on the lake... the Boiling valley climb for the eggs... little prince museum... during spring summer, go for the Open air museum...

during late autumn, mornings where the mist is so thick you have helpers waving traffic along the small roads...

      unforgettable..

private bath in your room can do whatever you want! 😛

but i wonder if your swim suit will melt or spoil because of the intense heat... hmm

      Ha! Ha! I wonder, too.
Anyway, is Hakone worth a visit if one is not going for the onsen?

Hi bekithia, I am staying at Shinagawa JR station, how do I know whether I need a transfer at Tokyo station? Would you be able to tell?

        bekithia:
        Hi June

Maihama Station is right outside Disneyland. So as long as you are staying very near a JR station that doesn't need a transfer at Tokyo Station, it should be very convenient. Tokyo Station is huge and very tiring rushing from one JR line to another after a long tiring day in Disneyland!

          Hi June,

you can check out this website: http://www.hyperdia.com
It's a trip planner for Japan. Just enter start and end destination and the website would suggest the various routes.

btw, Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa and Hotel Pacific near Shinagawa JR Station offers free shuttle bus to Disneyland. But I'm not sure whether it's strictly for guests only or not.

Another way is to take bus from Shinjuku:

          Hope that helps ! 🙂

            Thanks for the info.
Still unsure. Having been to Rotorua, New Zealand, I don't fancy the sulphuric smells...

Hi mamemo, Yes Grand Prince offers Disney shuttle bus however only meant for guest. And Hotel Pacific is closing their Operations with effect from Sep, I was considering that hotel as it was very convenience to the train station.

Somehow this post triggers me to check further on JR pass, hmm it seems to be bo hua to get the JR pass since I will only travel on the Shinakasen once. Does anyone know the Suica can be used in Osaka?

And if not does anyone knows where I can get Icoca? Is it from JR station and whether can be used on Limited Express from Airport to Shin-Osaka. As I can't find the info from the web.

                  Thanks much 🙂

Thanks Starlight. We will get the JR 7 days pass but i will be there for 10 days thus do you know whether they do seel a day or 2 pass? I am staying at JR Shinagawa 🙂

The JR pass comes in 7 or 14 or 21 days. This pass is excellent for extensive travelling on JR trains.
You may plan your journey in such a way that you dont use your JR pass for travelling in Tokyo. I think for the travelling in this city, there is another type of pass.
                  Please check.

                    Hi June

                    Try this : http://www.tokyo-subway.net/english/

You just need to key in the station you are leaving from and the destination and the website will list out the different routes you can take based on cheapest fare or shortest time. It will also show you the train station you need to change line at. Eg: key in Shinagawa, then key in Maihama which is the train station for Disney Resort.

I planned all my routes before the trip and it really saved me lots of time and confusion as you will need to buy your tickets by choosing the cost of each trip at the ticketing machines.

                      Hi Mamemo

Like what Coldleaf mentioned, we don’t eat at Sheraton too. There’s a cafe at Maihama Station that serves delightful western breakfast sets with reasonable pricing and you can try the basement at Ikspiari too. Lots of takeaway bento sets there and tables and chairs near the supermarket for you to sit down and eat your meals.

I love Ueno especially aroung the Ameyoko market. Many eateries like this famous Ramen shop(sorry can’t recall the name now) Definitely no problem with food in Ueno: )

Oh don’t forget to book the main hot spring bath at Ichinoyu for your family’s private use. Great experience without feeling shy lah!
