      Dear parents,

As i heard from my sister and some friends, P1 & 2 are just honeymoon period, wait till they go to P3 with additional subject (science)...and some said science is more difficult than Maths. My niece in P3 this year had all her subjects band 1 except for science that she scored 60+(mid year assessment)...so the panic button is now on for both the girl and her mum.

Thanks for your information, blue-march. 😓 :faint:

 Pardon my ignorance, Band 1 means what mark to what mark. Band 2 and so on and so forth... This is scary  ...imagine this is neighbourhood school...dare not think about the pressure from the so called'elite' schools.

My friend also said it is very tough, her P4 boy first Maths CA was so difficult that only 40% of the cohort pass ... i was like :!:

band 1 is 85 to 100, the rest of the banding i'm not too sure.... my niece is in a neighbourhood school (one of the better one in her area)and because she's in the best class of P3 so the teachers really drill them.

Maybe when come to Meet The Teacher session the following scenario would apprear

Teacher : Mr or Mrs XXX, your child performed badly in respective subjects like English, Maths & Science. I would suggest that you get them for some tuition to pull up the socks or we have to maintain our defending champion result (PSLE) in every year. We as teachers need to accountable to the Principal as we have Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to achieve.

Parent : We do not have budget or simply no time to supervise the work. We hope you Teachers can provide as much assistance to out child.

                  …. To be continue

                    [/quote]Or will it be,

\"Mr and Mrs So and So.. I'm sorry to inform you that your child is our school's weakest link. He/She will affect my KPIs which in turn will have an adverse effect on the quantum of my performance bonus. Seriously, would you consider XXX primary school instead?\"

                    hehe
