my kid's registration is next year. i checked with the school this morning & they have only home school distance list for registration this year. & i was told it's best to check again next year to be sure...

i was puzzled... can the distance change next year? my place is just right outside 1km according to onemap... :stupid: :stupid:

has anyone experienced changes in home school distance? thanks.

I would think they just want to play safe....even if the earth moves resulting in distance change, it shouldn't be more than a couple of cm, so don't think you have anything to worry about.

Perhaps it's another case of administrative tape (sorry, no intentions to be hurtful)

just tell the school you want to check the address distance, does not need to disclose whether registering this year or not

if the school location stays put and your housing block does not move, the distance should stay the same from this year to next year unless there is an earthquake between the time you enquired and the time for registration next year

            Hi RRMummy,

Thanks, yes I will trust the school. And they are using http://www.onemap.sg/index.html which MOE is also using Refer to question 25šŸ˜ž http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#proximity

I think this should be safe enough.

I was surprised when I called the school, my place is within 2km, and when I checked the website given by the school, it's out of 2km.

Anyone knows any website which is definitely accurate?
IMHO, the safest bet is to call up the school, give them your address and get them to check and let you know.

            :celebrate:

I would trust the schools data than any other website.. JMHO
To be honest, Singapore is so small - no school is 'too far' from home.
