Hi my gal is pri 1 this yr, I thinking of enroll her to berries for her chinese next yrs, any comment on hougang branch?

My gal is in the P1 Prep Class at hougang branch. So far, she is enjoying her class very much and loves reading the materials. The teachers were also very patient and nv hesitate to give feedback to parents. The ctr admin staff were also very helpful.

Although we did not see a lot of improvement in DD after six mths, we will continue with it (this is her 3rd term). In the first place, we did not expect to see fast results as we believe language needs to be slowly build up. We just want her to have a love for the language for now. It is my believe that if children hates the language, they will not put in effort to master it. Just my 2cents worth. šŸ˜„

Thx for the reply.. I bring my gal to take a look at the centre last Sunday. She seems like ok but not like it very much. Thus, she say she will consider.. Since I decide to enroll her only next yr, I will let her consider b4 I make a final decision. Maybe will let her try out the trial class 1st..

Anyone has placed their child in Bukit Batok berries ?

        Hi there,
Tis' my 1st time posting a reply in this forum. Thought I'd just share re the above.

My son's been at the Bkt Batok berries' branch since he was in N2 (now K2). Must say at first the teachers there drove me slightly nuts cos they were super 'on' and kept ringing me and/or hubby to tell us how our son's Chinese was non-existent.

Having said that, I was very happy when they suggested he move down a year to N1 so that his interest in Chinese won't be killed. Even though he was a N2 child in an N1 class, it was great cos that's what he can manage. So he was quite cheerful to attend class and his teachers were less frustrated.

When he reached K1, we made the decision to move him back to his age-group so that he won't have too much to catch up on K2. It was a struggle, but his teachers knew and were very supportive. I like how they're very caring and continue to speak to him in Chinese even though he always replied them in English! To them, it showed comprehension!

We're now wondering if we should let him stay or change location cos we're moving house. After 3 years at Bkt Batok, I'm so reluctant to start all over again with teachers!

It is great that you child is making good progress in the school! :celebrate:

We also moved home but we're sending our DDs back to the old center coz they are already familiar with the environment and teachers and have friends there. Plus the teachers and supervisor are so nice.

If you don't mind the distance maybe you can consider keeping your child there.. šŸ˜Ž

              Dear Fellow Parents

Any feedback on Berries Kembangan? I believed I may hv asked this a while ago ...but I'm trying my luck again cos I would like to solicit more feedback šŸ™‚

Anyone with any comments on Berries Kembangan, pls PM me if not too convenient to broadcast here - Thanks all in advance šŸ™‚

PS: I'm asking this cos i understand Berries Kembangan is a franchisee and I wonder if that \"affects\" the curriculum, method, system etc since I have read that it seems different outlets have \"slightly different practice\" šŸ˜ž

I think it depends on your child's character and what u intend to achieve.

My DD is the active type. She simply can't sit still. She will nv be able to survive thru 1 to 1 tuition. Even if she does, it will most definitely kill her interest in the subject. Thus we send her to Berries.

It is fun and conducted in group. Some form of peer pressure (monkey see monkey do) is good for her. She has been enjoying her class and nv complains abt needing to read the Berries text (even though it's pretty tough for her) at hm.

Though we don't see a great improvement (we don't expect it to be done overnight anyway), we felt that we have achieved the first part of our goals (her interest in the subject). šŸ˜‰
