I just saw NYPS's alumni membership fee. Got a SHOCK. It is........

        $1000
        (ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS)

My alma mater's fees is only $100. Compared to $1000!
        $1000 is one off ?

$1000 is no big deal for someone staying near Nanyang, right ? Esp if it can guarantee a place in the school.

That's true. But I think mrswongtuition is only comparing the difference in the joining fees of the different alumni.

                Mine is also $100...

                  mummy of 3:
So VooVoo, how is your PV at NYPS now? Ya, Z** T** son was born in 2005. Same with you and me. I am late to send the PV form last year July. 😢

But going to send PV form for my 2007 DD2. Hope can be interview by them. Can you tell me more about the PV system? Btw how you write when there is a question of : Reason for chosing the school
                  Please help.. Thanks a million.
I think they are only interviewing parents of 2006 end of this year...so you can send in your application by mid next year. I understand that they interviewed 200+ parents, selected less than 40...this number might drop further going by the balloting situation at NYPS. Honestly, traffic warden, sick bay duties (doctors/nurses) are the most essential help they need.

I don't think I dwelled into the reasons for choosing NYPS (common, obvious reasons anyway). It's more impt to elaborate on what you can help, preferably some skills you have which you can differentiate yourself...else, you might not get a chance to be interviewed...

Honestly, parents who are staying very near the school have a much higher chance of being selected to be traffic warden, also SAHMum/ Dad who can help out during school hours.

                  My five cents worth...

I attended the same talk by ex-principal 2 years ago. I offered para-legal and financial services. I was asked whether i would consider traffic warden and i agreed. alas, i was not selected even though i stayed within 1km. There were many parents willing to volunteer at all costs. The school selected 40 from over 200 of which half were within 1km.

there is not sure in for 1km for PV.

Some more NYPS need 80 hours of PV work instead of usual 40 hours in other schools
