Thanks Jennifer for the info.Jennifer:
Anyone has any idea where's the main shop of 台北敦南店 which operates 24 hours?
The 24 hours 诚品书店 is located along the same road once you get out from ZhongXiao Dunhua MRT stn. Very short walking dist. We asked for which exit from bypassers.
We visited the bookshop at night. Though the shop floor is only one level, it is a very huge place. Very organised, almost like a library.
Can you remember there's any cafe inside? My flight back is Sunday 9 am and so am thinking of spending my whole Saturday night there to chew the books then head straight to the airport on Sunday (therefore need coffee and some snack for the night)...
There is a small cafe at the same level as the bookshop (not ground level, think 2nd floor). There is toilet facility near this cafe too. There are small eateries inside the MRT stn too, but not sure if these eateries open late at night.
This is a good way to save on 1 night hotel stay. Thanks for the tip. -
hi,
Planning a trip to Taiwan with my 7-year old girl and my mum, and hubby.
If we go in early Dec, will the temperature be already in single digit, i.e..<10 degrees)? Also, most packages include either the flying cow farm or the shangri-la resort, which is more appropriate with a young child and an elderly?
Don't intend to go for those 8-days type in which everyday need to wake up eaqrly & change hotel...too \"shiong\" I think...so guess at most can go Taipei & Tai-chung only?
Many thanks for your advice
Rgds,

I am also studying to go Taipei in beg Dec (my 13 yr old girl & myself). Planning to get tickets & hotels separately and go to Leofoo Village, Window on China, Ximending, Shilin night market, Raohe night market, shopping around Taipei Main Station & ZhongXiao Fuxing/Danhua, maybe join Chan Brothers 1/2 day tour to Wulai and 1 day tour to Jiufen (incl the usual CKS, Marty’s Shrine etc, actually this is not the main places that I want but Jiufen coz can get the Taiwan mochi there). Have time may go Wufenpu. I want to go to Hualien Chao Feng Farm but find it too far & hazzle.
There is Master Bear Resort in Taitung. You can compare with Flying Cow & Shangrila. -

Since this is going to be your very first overseas trip, it would be easier and more relaxing to join a package tour.

I find travelling in a package tour very tiring, not suitable for young children. Looking through the papers, usually package tour to Taiwan is 7 days and travelling by coach from one place to another.
For itinery, you may wish to visit Taiwan website to find out the places that interest you. -
Taiwan is very big. Last Jun we went from north to south via bus, I think wasted too much time travelling by bus. If take the speed rail wld be better.
If we go again, we wld re-visit the Salt City for its ATV rides n try out its salt water swimming pool.
Also like to visit Freshfields Springs Resort again for its child friendly activity room n try out its outdoor springs. -
Popular Bookstore is selling two Taiwan travel guide (in Chinese), one on places to see n food to eat, the other one on sth else n shopping. How to get there is included.
