Er, did I cover most essentials? haha.

(1) Is the restroom/toilet inside the room? If yes, does it come with hot/cold water supply?
(2) From the photo, the room door can be locked. So, keys are being used?Can the room be locked from inside?
(3) How many chairs are provided in the room? 2?
(4) No curtains for the window in the room?
(5) Just 1 each of 40 watt fluorescent lighting in the room? Is it bright enough?
(6) How many power supply outlets in each room?

1) they use common restroom
2) students are not allowed to lock their rooms
3) 2 chairs are provided in each room (1 on each side of study table)
4) There is a roller blind at the window
5) room is bright enough
6) I think there are 2 pantries on each level. Each pantry area has 3 washing machines ($1 per use), 2 dryers, an ironing board, a microwave, a fridge, a water cooler and wash bassin.

I think a table lamp is necessary. The ceiling light is very likely to cast the student's shadow onto the table, blocking light on study material.

The mini fan I bou has a short cord, hopefully the wall plug @ study table is not too high up.

If possible, I will take photo of the toilet n pantry today, so we hv a collection here :lol:

I am also interested to know where the students will hang those clothes they are to wash on their own. Is the dryers coin-operated too?

Parents, do you allow your teens to lock their bedroom door? My ds1 (sec 2) like to lock his door and I always have this problem wondering what he is doing in the room, whether he is doing his homework or ?? will there be problem moving forward? Pls share what is the best practics for you at home.

No such occurrence in our house since nobody locks the doors - except bathroom doors, and my MIL locks her door. The kids share their rooms, so no chance to lock.

Here's the table - can see the wall outlets. I think there's another near the door, but I can't be sure at this point.

I joined the tour this evening.

There are at least two light tubes underneath the hanging shelf above the study table. One of the switch next to the power plug is a light switch for one of the tube. There is another switch on the light tube panel. If you look under the hanging shelf, the switch is somewhere in the middle of the hanging shelf.

The hanging shelf has doors that can be locked. The wardrobe also has 2 or 3 drawers with lock. The students will be given the keys to lock their valuables. No room key will be given. The room door can be locked from inside. The students are allowed to lock when they sleep or change.

I took some pics of the pantry cum washer/dryer area. There is a fridge (the one we saw is already packed with many plastic bags of plastic boxes), a MW, a hot/cold water dispenser, 2 washers n 2 dryers and a ironing board & iron. The washer/dryer coin-machine is located at a corner, clearly labelled for washer 1, 2, dryer 1,2 and comes with instructions. The washers are front loading. If the students need assistance on how to operate the machines, can ask the boarding master or assistant boarding master.

Max no. of free laundry svc is 17 pcs per week. The student will be given laundry bags. Deposit on either Mon, Wed n Fri. Collect 2 days later (hope I heard n remember the dates correctly).

The metal rod near the window is likely for hanging bath towel (passed by some rooms with doors open).

The shoe rack outside the room is 2 tier, can put at least 2 pairs comfortably. Some existing boarders hv their shoes piled up.

The bed mattresses hv bn cleaned by professional cleaners. Bedsheet, pillow case and blanket are provided. I either heard they are hotel provided or hotel grade.

The wifi access is only in the computer room (with opening hours) and the dining hall.

There is a game room with a large TV and some IKEA style sofa and a piano at the other end of the room.

There is also a gym with track mills, aerobics balls, etc. Opening hours apply.

If the student is unable to come back for dinner and like to eat the meals provided, there is an arrangement for the student to leave a container at the designated area in the dining hall, just need to fill in a form n label the container. The packed dinner will be on hold for an hour only. If not collected, the kitchen staff will remove the food.

There is hot choco, coffee, tea, mocha served in the dispensers at the dining hall. Breakfast is simple fare like bread, cereals. Dinner has a soup, a few meat n veg choices n fruits. Supper can be bread, rolls, sandwiches n a beverage. The student can bring the fruits to their rooms to eat later. Some parents also bring food for the children.

The common toilet has a row of shower rooms and a row of WC cubicles. The shower room only has 1 hook on the door. I pointed it is insufficient n the boarding master says he will inform the staff. Hopefully can hv a few added by the time our children start boarding.

I think I wld get a small basket for my boy to carry the bathing items. No one leave their cup/toothpaste/toothbrush/bathing items in the toilet.
