I believe quite a few GEP students from ACS Primary move on to RI. Not sure why. Although many of them do stay on as I would expect them to, being true blue ACSians.

think many of those whose parents are aiming at NUS medicine are not risking by going to IB at ACSI.

BTW, some of the ACS GEP students got played out by ACSI who put them on WL...after their VP and some GE director (??) had infer that ACSI is very likely to give CO to all GEPers judging from what happened for 2009 cohort. Some of them left in a limbo coz they didn't bother with other DSA schs...the price of being TRUE BLUE ACSians!!

may be the DSA also rugby style .......lol...arm twisting, if you don't put them as first choice, they won't give you the CO for DSA ....as some parents mentioned

Really? Wow! I thought the situation was so long as the ACSP GEP students confirmed that they would put ACSI as their first choice they would be given a confirmed DSA. Was this the case for all the ACSP GEP students or only for the weaker ones?

They actually tell their GEP students not to choose certain IP schools like RV because it has no experience with GEP students?!

I would be very upset if I were them too.

That was what I meant. If the school don't get their IP, they will slowly lose their last few top students. For example the case for ACSI, ia mnot sure how many of their GEP students they will retain if they do not get IP. The same goes to SNG, SCGS etc...
This is very true. Every year, most of CHS' GEP students go to RI/HCI. And all the top-scorers as well (mostly all those 260 and above). In my dd's school, many left at sec 3 for NJC and VJC or NUSH.

One of this year president scholar was from Cedar Girls and left for VJC in sec 3. But for the case of CHS...they didn't retain most of their primary school top scorers even before IP system was introduced.

Maybe also because ACS are more ang mo pies and RV is very obvious a 墨水 school.

I have also heard of RVians left for other JCs after year 3. For what reason, I not sure. I guess, no matter which schools, there are students hopping around.

Ultimately, the affection and loyalty students have towards the school also play a part.

But academic consideration is the foremost, I'' think. Most likely the student concerned think that he/she can do better in the other school.
