Now that SMSS is an autonomous school, will they raise the COP for pupils from SMPS, just like SCGS having a progressive raising of COP over a number of years. SCGS is now 220 instead of 200 ? So, will SMPS girls going to need higher t-score? by when ? Parents with vested interest should do well to discuss with school directly.

I think there is an event upcoming dealing with the Anglican schools. The event is being held by the Anglican Diocese of Singapore on the education aspects.

Dear mommies with girls currently in SMPS,

Can I check what type of school shoes are your girls wearing?
My girl’s childcare requires the kids to wear white shoes for their graduation photo. I am thinking to buy something which she can wear next year too.

        TIA

The COP for SMPS girls who want to enter SMSS’ express stream is now higher. Boarderline cases (those who have an option to go Express or Normal) have to choose Normal stream if they want to enter SMSS. If they wish to be in express stream, they have to go somewhere else.

Yes actually i agree that with the COP, there is not much difference of an afflication. They may raise the COP and really if students with lower COP will end up in NA instead of E in other schools.

I still prefer the old system when they will admit the SMPS girls. That is the true meaning of afflication.

Mummies, am I right to say that now it is only CHIJ that really has the afflication? Or is CHIJ system the same as the upcoming SMPS system (COP)? Kindly advise.

If any of you do know of anything regarding the COP, please let us know.

I hope that the meeting with the other groups will change SMSS mind and they will revert back to the old system.

Actually, they must have confidence in SMPS teachers that they will teach the children well and definitely not have lousy students at the end of the day. I wished that they will change their mind.

One of the reason why I like the afflication is that saint schools concentrate on character development. And if students due to lower COP are not admitted or because they do not meet the COP and cannot go to any stream of their choice, these students maybe forced to go to other schools and learn bad.

I sure many of us send our children to SMPS because we are very concerned about character development in our kids.

                  Hi simplyme,
my gal is wearing the normal white school shoes from Bata. So you should be very safe with the std white school shoes

that is a very persuasive point

you should bring it up to the Anglican Diocese's people in charge of the education together with the principals

also, in SMSS, there were some from norbal acad promoted to express....all things are possible...also from express promote down to normal acad

                        Dear Mummies,

I would love to bring this matter up too! I will definitely fight for the case too! But alas my child will only be going in next year and whatever I am feeling now, not be able to be materialise. Therefore, I need parents who have children who are going in to say what they truly feel. Even if it fails at the end of the day, at least you mummies have tried for the many generations of SMPS children to come yah!
