My dad carried me to pri school when it rains as my school also gets flooded after heavy rain.

for us, we wear slippers to school then change at the drop off area.
if it rained during dismissal time, my mum will just tie some plastic bags around our ankle and we walked home with our feet in the bag. one pair of shoes only...cannot afford to get wet.

Oh I only remember shivering so hard during heavy rainy days and my mum gotta buy me milo to drink to keep me from shivering. As for my shoes....got soaked....and because mum was hair dresser...use hair-dryer to dry it for the next day... :lol:

ya...i just remember we loved to play and play and play... any minute could play, we would just play on the spot, so all these non-product games came in very handy. I am sure there are more...need to look into memory archive...

The one I've eaten always when young is the ice batu. My malay neighbour sells home made one. Got durian, logan, lychee, lime flavours. I don't see someone make nowaways lei.

i only remember the icecream/rojak mobile vendor. sometimes my mum will take her own bowl downstairs to buy the little scoops of icecream.

Oh I remember the noodle man with the \"kok kok kok\" every suppertime passing by my grandma's house. This was the old way of doing delivery service....they took 2 sticks and knocked for attention... \"mee tai mak, meepok...\" etc... and if we wanted to order, we shouted to them and they took our orders.... Then in a while, they delivered the noodles to us. So good right? Days of no pervasive telephone then.....

Ice-balls? round in shape with many tastey colours splashed on it and can suck on it for a long time on a sunny hot day? Something like ice kacang without the kacang.

Tua behlong? a toy tie to the leg and keep skipping over it repeatedly without tripping. Once tripped, then next player takes over..

Chiclet chewing gum? Each looked like size of a tooth?

Little red beans (相思豆) used to go JB alot and picked alot from there.

If you look at the list, during my time...hardly anything needs money... :lol: We had alot of low-budget fun....very little products.
