WTH :x The insensitive P ask the Sec students to hear out news, but it doesn't benefit them at all!!! Even for the current sec 1s :stupid: :stupid:
-
ycpang:
GONG XI GONG XI to ycpang... wish u Toto winLet me guess....
VS, CHS, SJI, St. Nic, MGS, SCGS and Cedar.
If all tio I immediately go and buy TOTO  -
Tomorrow is honour’s day at scgs. Well P will be gloating over the news for sure but sorry i don’t share her excitement. Many parents are diasppointed too.

It’s too early to pass judgement. The quality of students from scgs’ partners are really competitive. Principal and board of scgs have strong reasons to agreed. Mixing of cultures should not be too much of a hindrance to scgs girls. On a positive note, i see scgs girls benefitting from a bi-cultural enviroment. -

As SC alumni and parent, I am disappointed. But I know I would be more disappointed if SC is not one of the 7 schools. I know how hard the school have fought for this IP status. -
the 7 new IP schs came as no surprise to most of us. Quite predictable.
But CHS, SNGS and SCGS -> strange marriage.
was wondering why they do not IP to CJC? The college facilities are there. They just need to beef up the curriculum. CJC has also been doing better in recent years.
A new JC? hmmmm ..... :? maybe MOE realise better build another JC, or rather, a IP-JC, cos there is not enough places in all the current IP-JC to be shared with IP and non-IP students.
Just a bit disappointed that the current batch of Sec 1 and 2s not affected. -
So to clarify, is it that P6 pupils taking PSLE in 2012 can choose to apply for Sec 1 in the following IP schools?
1. CHS/SCGS/SNGS (A level in new JC)
2. DHS (6-year A level)
3. HCI/NYGS (A level in HCI-JC)
4. NJC (6-year A level)
5. RVHS (6-year A level)
6. TJC (6-year A level, extended downward from 4-year A-level)
7. RI/RGS (A level in RI-JC)
8. VS/Cedar (A level in VJC)
The IB schools are:
1. ACS/MGS (IB programme)
2. SJI (IB programme)
NUSH* offers their own diploma.
That’s a total of 17 schools, not 11+7 as previously mentioned by PM. Did I miss anything out? Unless someone forgot to minus one from the initial 11 (which will be VJC since they will take in students from 2 of the new IP schools). * denotes co-ed schools. -
It's strange to see such pairings of schools. Is MOE planning to integrate those all boys' schools with the all girls' in the hope that one fine day they will pair up and then get married ? :?

Dun get me wrong. I am not implying that sngs and cat high quality is not on par with scgs. I wouldjust prefer a partnership with a more estb institute. I noe how it is to be a poineering batch. Yes it is exciting and challenging but it can also be distracting and disorganised.
I guess SC’s hands are tied. On one hand we want Ip status badly to stem brain drain yet on the other hand we have no affiliation to any jcs. So I guess we have to make do with this solution. Sigh… -

Ip to cjc will not be popular for students from st. nick and cat high as both these schools have many high ability students with many options.
