Religion aside, the marriage among CHS, SNGS and SCGS may not be all strange. It is not true that all SCGS girls do not speak Chinese. Many SC girls ends up in HCI every year. I would love to have SCGS marry to HCI but HCI is already married. 🙂 What it surprises me is… CHS is allowed to marry 2…:-)

        INNOVATE:
The principal of scgs is a proven leader having worked with the current principal of cat high during her successful stinct at xinmin. The board of scgs must have taken all factors into consideration. Should await details from moe regarding the new jc. The current principals of st nick and cat high are highly capable and these three leaders are able to draw on their experiences to come out with new initiatives for the students. No worries.

        o i c

        good news indeed then

Cat high’s principal lee hak boon, is an educational leader with outstanding track record. He was instrumental in positioning xinmin sec from nowhere to one of the top neighbourhood sec schs. Together with current scgs’sprincipal, xinmin had won value award for ten straight years. Look at how lee hak boon has propelled cat high to pole position. Plus the highly rated principal of st nick, there’s no cause for concern. Anyway, unis and scholarship boards do not bother which jc you are from.

But who's running the JC? That's the important question. And will it mean that the three schools will coordinate their programmes so that they dovetail at the JC level?

I've so many questions about the new JC too. Where will it be? Why not just merge with NJC which is not too far from these three schools? With a declining birthrate, should we still be building more JCs?

i think today the biggest winner and star should be Victoria School (along with their \"off-spring\" junior College VJC & new formalized sister Cedar)

a jump forward for SJI too... but seems they are in the background somehow... news reports seems to focus on the Victorians in CH 8 and CH U chinese news ....i havent saw the CH5 or CNA news yet...

while happy for these schools, it cast many uncertainty for Cath High, SNGS and SCGS with future IP students attending a totally unknown and yet to set up JC and like marriage of convenience .... OMG...

Just now, I only see the good point. That is Cat High boys will have two girl friends each in their JC years......but I failed to see til now that SJI's boys will have no girl friend 😞

And...ACSI offer IB, does it means that MGS IP will switch to IB base?

I see some here are comparing alumnis of the new IP schools

                        Just wanted to mention this.

I was reading on some book a while ago at the library, forgot which one was it, well it turns out, that there are alot of high ranking officials from the East-India trading company (remember that?) that came from SJI?

                        Not to mention some nobles.

can't say for sure though, but if this is true, then its cool.

You an alumni of VS? you seem to be overly proud of them. also grouping them along in your BIG 4 family of schools.

VS has a loooong way to go to get into the BIG 4 as you put it. They don't even have that much prestige to boast about. ACS(i), RI, HCI, CHS, even SJI are known more in other countries.

I know prestige is an arbitrary concept, filled with human vanity. But look at it this way, VS's only advantage with SJI and CHS is affiliation with VJC. I dont see hoe VS is attaining \"BIG 4\" status.

Just giving my 2 cents worth.
