      James Ang:
      boson:

So to clarify, is it that P6 pupils taking PSLE in 2012 can choose to apply for Sec 1 in the following IP schools?

      1. CHS/SCGS/SNGS (A level in new JC)
      2. DHS (6-year A level)
      3. HCI/NYGS (A level in HCI-JC)
      4. NJC (6-year A level)
      5. RVHS (6-year A level)
      6. TJC (6-year A level, extended downward from 4-year A-level)
      7. RI/RGS (A level in RI-JC)
      8. VS/Cedar (A level in VJC)

      The IB schools are:
      1. ACS/MGS (IB programme)
      2. SJI (IB programme)

NUSH offers neither A-level nor IB.

That's a total of 17 schools, not 11+7 as previously mentioned by PM. Did I miss anything out? Unless someone forgot to minus one from the initial 11 (which will be VJC since they will take in students from 2 of the new IP schools).

going by top 10% of cohort computation, will the COP for PSLE 2010 rise to at least 250 for these schools?

If it does, all I know is tuition centres will have more business...

VS - expected this; previously they could not do it with VJC becos VS does not have a sister school

CGS - very impressed with CGS; although lower profile, shorter history and less prominent alumni, it has produced consistently great results

CHS - CHS could have started their own Pre-U and have SNG joined them at JC1 and 2. CHS with their strong alumni is even better equipped to do this than Dunman High and River Valley High. I wonder why they did not do this.

SNG - should have just partnered CHS

SCGS - quite funny to pair it with 2 Catholic/SAP schools

MGS - logical to pair with ACSI; ACSI accepting girls at JC1 and 2 may be redundant now??

SJI - worked very hard to get into IP past few years; concentrated a lot on academic results as SJI results are not that great; no disrespect as SJI take in a lot of their feeder primary school students; it could not partner CHIJ Toa Payoh as CHIJ’s results are even weaker

I also wonder what happen to Tanjong Katong Girls’ School, as it used to rival RGS to be the top girls’ school in Singapore.

Crescent Girls’ School is a good school too, perhaps there are too many girls’ schools in Singapore.
